Thought the MBRP sounded really good in videos... Deep and loud and smooth!

I installed the MRBP Street cat back a week ago. It has a very deep low sound especially at idea and low revs.

It is louder than I thought it would be - sometimes I wish it was just a bit quieter like on the freeway after a few hours driving at highway speeds but around town - taking off from lights - it sounds really good.

You may have got lucky with no import duty....some are some aren't its Te difference between a cheap exhaust or one dearer than what you can buy here.

As I said you just have to ask the vendors here, it's not a "luck" thing...

I thought you were saying save a few hundred importing from US? Then you say ask a vendor here? Do you mean import yourself or buy one in Australia already?

Sorry mate the vendors on the forum. It will save you a few hundred, and you're not going to pay any customs. This isn't just my experience, there's several other forum members who've done the same with no issues

Ah got you, thanks bud. I was trying to get my head around it because paying customs is the difference between saving some money or not really saving money.

I watched a video today of a number of new Stangs doing burnouts and being a bit silly one sounded really deep and nice I sent the guy a message to see what exhaust he had and he said it's a MBRP Race ....sounds very nice and surprisingly not that loud.....nowhere near borla atack or Corsa sport loud.

I've got the Ford Racing X-pipe w/ Side Exits on the way from the states. Should be shipped in the next day or two, probably a fortnight or so until it arrives.

I'll have it installed shortly after where it will be paired with the Roush twin tip axle back system.

I'll upload a vid if possible, otherwise whoever comes to the Melbourne catch-ups will get to hear it in the flesh.

EDIT: well it seems this is a no-go now. The shipping costs were misrepresented by Levittown Ford and it was going to cost me almost another $400 to have it it sent over. Incredibly disappointed, but credit to Levittown who informed me of this mistake as soon as possible rather than dragging it out. Good service, especially for an international vendor.

I have the Magnaflow street cat back on mine and love it. No drone and it is loud enough. My wife says it sounds like my Harley. The exhaust tips look great.

Did you watch the video? I was surprised at how little rasp there was.....very deep...I thought it was a MF Comp.

Yeah I just watched it, does sound good for sure. I just remembered I'd read a few reviews that said it gets real raspy, which doesn't seem to show up in videos

Edit: Maybe that's just the street :shrug:
