Love it Gnome! Faultless, going off the vid, and an ideal result in my opinion. Well done!

Has anyone put a Ford Racing exhaust on yet?
If so, would appreciate your thoughts/experience and where you got it done.

So the question has been asked about drone by a few.
This system has a deep note, and is much louder than stock so you hear that in the cabin there is no avoiding this. At some points around 1500 rpm in the rev range it resonates through the cabin under load, but personally I would not call it drone like I have experienced in a mates car a few years ago, but others may find it a bit overbearing. At light throttle it is pretty good, but I have not had it on the freeway sitting at 100 KM/H yet to hear what that sounds like. I have noticed a pulsing that has come into it yesterday afternoon that I did not notice originally. This is more on overrun than on acceleration, maybe I have got used to the volume and now picking up on other things, not sure but will be keeping an ear on it. I have meant to get a decent mic for the go pro for ages and finally went and bought one yesterday with a long extension cable, when I get the time I will mount the mic at the back near the number plate with the go pro pointing at the tacho so you can hear the different noise at different revs, and then I plan to do a second one with the mic inside the cabin.

If you live in a residential area and leave early in the mornings, your neighbours will most likely not like the volume at cold start, it is loud, even with the stock system it made a bit of a racket at start up, so with a louder exhaust naturally it is even louder. For the first minute or two it sits around 1000 rpm while it warms up, and then the revs drop away and at normal idle it is fine. For me the neighbours are not a problem as I live in a semi rural area, but I do park outside my 19 year old sons window. He wont be sleeping in every morning any more now that dad has a new Mustang alarm clock:)

Thanks for the reply Gnome. Some good thoughts there.

From what I can tell watching dozens of Youtube vids, the exhausts that sound best to me, deep tone + some decent volume, all have some level of unwanted frequencies in the cabin. Decisions decisions.

Here it is, hope this works.
I really have to get a decent microphone for the go-pro , this really doesn't do it justice.
First time I have ever uploaded something to utube, will mess around with the format to make the file smaller next time.

Thanks John for the live demo of your magnaflow comp catback last sunday over at windsor. It sounds awesome. For everybody else out there it is a lot deeper in tone than the gopro can pick up and louder, but can also be driven at a reasonable level if required.

Gnome, we love to see that you're happy with the new exhaust, and it sounds great! Give it a few thousand miles to get broken in, and then you should see the tones even out.

It is true that cameras can never capture the sound 100%, especially cellphones and action cameras. We always recommend hearing the exhaust in person, if possible, before making a decision. Most people fall in love with it right away!

"That's a pretty elaborate set of bongs you've got there son", said the Customs bloke. "Are you planning on using them in Australia?"

X-Force?

So I am planning on the X-Force with remote controlled baffle when my car arrives. I like the idea of volume control for home in my street vs smashing around town. Does anyone have any experience with this exhaust here?

Is that kind of like what the SS-V Redline has? Bi-modal? Are you trying to keep up the property value with a quiet exhaust when driving in your street :). But a noisy exhaust can be a good option if a neighbour had a party that went very late ... or if you've got a kid that won't get out of bed until late.
