I will be putting a corsa sports as well as a bunch of other mods on it after the first service. They sound very different in real life compared to on a video

Is mustang Motorsport supply corsa exhaust too ? Or have to import from America

I bought it from Hypermotive (American supplier), they were great to deal with, and I recommend them highly

OK so I have been pondering the exhaust issue for far too long now, I have read god knows how many posts, listened to far too many sound clips and I am pardon the pun - exhausted.

So time to ask the audience.

I like the current standard note it is awesome, but far too quiet, if I could keep it as is and just turn up the volume I would be a happy camper, maybe add a bit of burble on overrun also would be nice. I have had a run in Phil's car (Racered-GT) with the Magnaflow axle back and that sounded nice - thanks Phil:thumbsup:. But now I am thinking I could maybe go up a little in volume, so was thinking Magnaflow CAT back.

Spoke to a local exhaust company near work and he reckons doing just a resonator delete with a H pipe with the standard mufflers would probably get me what I was after, $180.00 fitted and drive out the door, sounds far to easy. Was about to do this until I spoke to mate who has had an exhaust done by the same mob and he told me they have no idea what they are doing and he had nothing but dramas with them, burnt wiring harness, bolts not done up etc.... arrgh back to square one.

So options are:
H pipe resonator delete. Has anyone done a resonator delete with standard mufflers, or have any experience with doing this?

Magnaflow axle back, safe bet, sounded OK, but maybe there is something better. Also there is a fitment issue with them at the moment and they are working on a fix, not sure how long that will take.

Magnaflow CAT back, these do fit so I am told and an easy bolt up so if I hate it easy to change, or even I guess I could add the original resonator back in and essentially have the axle back.

I am sure that with the new exhaust my fuel economy will also improve greatly, at the movement I have to keep flooring it just to make sure they didn't accidently put in a hybrid engine, if I can hear it then wont need to do that all the time:)

Sorry for the ramblings this just keeps running through my head and making me dizzy

Thoughts?

PS no I am not going to buy 6 different ones and try them all:lol:

I realise that I'm in the minority here, but I have zero interest in a loud exhaust whatsoever.

As I get older, I have become increasingly less tolerant of many things - including noise!

Probably just put an X or H pipe in and dump the resonator (suitcase) if you just want more volume.

Exhausts are a rather personal thing. Everyone you ask will say their choice is the best. Probably listen to some in the flesh?

I am not that young either, but I never grew up.

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional :D

Hearing them in the flesh is the problem, I have heard one option, would be great to hear the others also before committing.

I have plenty of both to do - my PS4 collection is testament to that.

At this stage after hearing the stock note from the inside of the car...I'd have to agree.

Yes it's too quiet from the outside and yes if you put an exhaust on, you will get addicted to it, but it's a case of ignorance is bliss for me, for as long as I can hold out haha!

Got nothing to do with age Drewbo, sometimes the extra loudness is just not worth the spend/attention/neighbour dramas

My 65 is loud. So I'm with drewbo. The 16 doesn't have to burble much at all. Of the various exhaust videos i listened to, the only one I liked was the Borla touring. I think ozdaz in WA said they were really dear.

But I like most of you pioneers trying out stuff and letting us loiterers on the docks know what you find.

Get an H pipe from someone else. Problem solved :)
If you're still not happy, get a catback.
If you're still not happy, welcome to modding :headbonk:

dangerous words, exhaust upgrade usually results in worse fuel economy haha

Like you I have been through ALL avenues, every video and came to the conclusion....
Catbacks give very little extra power so do an exhaust for sound, A "H" pipe can be bought off the shelf and will probably suit YOUR needs but for me I feel the factory rear mufflers sound a bit hollow and cheap....I came down to
Corsa touring Axle back....Sounds great, unique and no drone BUT at $1800 just for an axle back is just rude
Magnaflow Comp Axle back....sounds great BUT I have heard due to the sound being SO deep there can be a little drone
So I ordered the SLP Loudmonth 2 Axlebacks from American Muslce.com....Sound is a little louder than stock, alot richer and deeper but with NO drone...These were $800 to my door.
The SLP Axle backs are essentially Roush axle backs but with a quieter deeper note (roush own SLP) they even look identical. IF it's too quiet I will either add a H pipe later on Or keep the suitcase and get extractors OR have a shop fit a smaller aftermarket centre muffler.

My opinion only sound is subjective but I wanted a deep beefy note that's not loud and doesn't drone and is not raspy...Of what I can tell the SLP's give this and are very affordable they should be slightly louder in real life than the video portrays...

Listen with headphones on....

And Stephanie likes it loud and deep.....

I'm lucky - I like the exhaust on my current ride best at about 1500-2k revs :)

But in another car, it was more like 6000, which doesn't help.

And ugh ^^^ I actually think the stock sounds better than the SLP.
Personal taste, bah.
