Corsa touring Axle back....Sounds great, unique and no drone BUT at $1800 just for an axle back is just rude
jesus where are you looking? my quotes for a full catback delivered are around the 2100 mark (3-4 vendors)

obviously that doesn't compare to 800 bucks but you can get the catbacks for a reasonable price

Including the 15% import duty you will get hit with at customs?

depends on the vendor, some will write down the price so that duty isn't so bad.

I wonder if it a freight forwarder would be better in that regard, they could take the invoice out?

I thought I would try the $800 axle backs until some local shops in Perth can maybe do me a decent catback without bad exchange rates and tax's etc....Id probably get $1200 for my $800 axle backs off someone who paid 95k for a GT ?

I'm lucky - I like the exhaust on my current ride best at about 1500-2k revs :)

But in another car, it was more like 6000, which doesn't help.

And ugh ^^^ I actually think the stock sounds better than the SLP.
Personal taste, bah.
Stock to me does sound good but its a bit too tame....I like the SLP because for the price If I don't love it in real life and I get $600 back its been worth the bit of extra volume....I would hate to spend $2500 on a catback and not love it. Worst Case scenario I'll use the SLP's until some Local vendors get real on the pricing. My VF SSV has a sweet sounding 2.5" Manta ( Manta is a WA Company) catback that is the same size and amount of pipe a Mustang would use and that was $1200 installed.

same deal here though, if you don't like it you can sell it

my plan (if I don't get to hear a sport catback in person) is to get the corsa xtreme and if it is earth-shatteringly loud I sell the sport mufflers and get the touring (creating the sport catback for those that don't know). of course this plan seems to change daily, I have ages to decide/hear one in person

When I first heard the Corsa Extreme, I firstly had a big clean up job to do, then decided I must have it, and then the daunting reality set in:

There is no way you could daily something like that in Oz.

It sounds ridiculous when listening at low volumes with earphones.

But the note is everything i've ever wanted in life and more.

So anyways i've settled on not getting an exhaust. The fickleness continues.

Good plan...I believe the extreme may actually wake up a dead horse so the touring mufflers may come into play. I guess over the coming year there will be a lot more choices and second hand bits and pieces floating around gumtree so I'm happy to have a crack at an Axleback.

One thing I'm sure of is this may not be my first and last exhaust on my car:headbonk:

When I first heard the Corsa Extreme.
Yeah that was my first real, 'ok this is the exhaust i need in my life' moment for this car. Then went through the same issues of practicality and hastle down the line.

It was a bit of a let down when I realised it really wasnt a good idea due to local laws, but what can you do.?

Even the borla s-type had me second guessing the actual volume.

I figure the ford racing sport is a good compromise in obnoxious volume but still has a nice idle and great sound through the rpms..... If I want a deeper agressive sound than the xpipe, I can swap in an h pipe.... If volume is a problem I can swap in a smaller resonator of some type ... There are always options. For that ill source the expertise of a local exhaust/muffler shop if it even comes to that.

Your options are pretty much, make an educated decision now, with the possibility of maybe having to make a couple small relatively inexpensive changes to make it work, or wait to hear different setups in person.

For me its a bit of fun swapping things around a bit if needed... But again im pretty confident the system I got is what im after to start with.

^I agree with that.

But I'm the sort to test the water, it'll make my stang a little unique with an exhaust no one else is game to try (with good reason)

I'd rather regret going for too much than not going for enough haha.

and I'm sure you'd all line up to hear an xtreme

I agree. I think ultimately I will end up with my SLP AB's and a small manta centre muffler with all new 2.5" pipe work connecting it all together down the track.
