Atturo AZ850DR - new drag radials

Just received two Atturo AZ850DR (drag radial) tires in 315/30/R20 sizing. I'm in Ohio, so the weather will suck for a while longer, but I'll post updates related to performance as I get these mounted and test them out in various conditions. I won't be going to a track, so I'll only be able to provide commentary pertaining to street performance. These are going on a '17 GT mt-82 car making 900whp (twin turbo). My hope is that they can grip once I get in the 50/60mph range, but we shall see. The Hellcat guys seem to really like the AZ850 (standard tire, not the new DR), so maybe these will be strong performers compared to some of the other drag radial options currently available in larger diameters.

Yes Please!, Im over here in the southwest and the weather is finally perfect. Unfortunately I can't find tires anywhere. I considered grabbing me some AZ850DR's but my local discount tire said they can get me some Nitto 555r2's in by the end of this month. So I went with the latter. Otherwise I wanted to give the Atturos a shot!

305/30/20! My original choice had been toyo r888r's 305/35/20 but was told wouldn't arrive until end of april early may. Same with the Atturos!

I have a twin turbo pushing 900whp, and I should have these tires on in about a week. Having trouble finding tire shops that will install a low profile tire on aftermarket wheels when they didn't get margin on the tire sale, which I understand.

Stingy with the rubber aren't they! 4.5/32 tread depth new.

Looks like an nt05. Let us know how they hook and wear.

I'd love a DR with enough tread depth to survive longer than a year (5k miles). Unicorn level though!

The weather is finally getting more consistent in the Ohio valley, so these will be going on ASAP. The shop I had planned on using turned me down for mounting, so I'm looking around at other options. I can say this, though; that rubber feels like stone when the temps are lower than about 60F. I was warned that would be the case, but I would absolutely not try to drive with those tires in cold weather. Now that it's in the 70s outside, the rubber feels totally different.

Finally got these mounted, but don't have many miles on them yet. The shop that mounted them last week advised I take it easy on them for 72 hours, which I did, to allow for some sort of sealant to dry. I'll admit to not having a clue what sealant the guy was talking about.

When I bought these tires, the guy I worked with at the wholesaler said he didn't think these would be great tires under 70F without "putting some heat into them". He was 100% correct. I went for a short drive with my young kids when it was about 65F in the morning, and the outside temp had gotten down to the 40s the previous night. These tires are terrifying in those conditions. Virtually no traction until they warmed up, and I mean NO traction. I spun the tires backing out of my driveway. Touching them with your fingertips when the car hasn't been driven, the rubber feels extremely firm. After a drive, they're way, way squishier and stickier. I drive like a responsible human with my kids in the car, so I can't vouch for grip at peak power, or even half power, but I could tell a huge difference in handling as the tires warmed up. They honestly felt like rollerskates until warm. I would not recommend these on a daily, whatsoever, and also not in conditions cooler than 70F until you "put some heat in them". Hoping to get some 60-130 pulls on my dragy this weekend, which I've never attempted before. Should be exciting/scary...

I found them on eBay. Waiting to pull the trigger on them. Wife lost it after I told her I spend more money on front seat leather skins for the GTO. I don’t know why she’s so upset I just did her whole from suspension on her Yukon and getting her new wheels and tires Oh I forgot Im doing a new spec clutch on the goat today too
