It will do nothing for you, unless you buy an OD damper to spin the blower faster/easier with less belt slip. It will also add more weight to the crank snout (stress). The factory damper works as intended.

Perfect, that makes sense because I don't see anyone talking about them anymore

At one time, there was talk of gen 2's upgrading to the stock gen 3 fluid damper.
