APR Splitter Install

Hi everyone!

I installed the splitter, in spite of knowing that my belly pan is not flat, and now it points upwards, and it looks like the car is gonna take off. I'll try to remove the belly pan and bolt it down to the subframe directly. Did you guys do something like this? What should I account for? Do you think this solution will bring it flat? Is there gonna be any gap between the stock lip and the splitter?

I just installed RTR style splitter on my 2019 car. The leading edge is parallel to the ground (about 6.25" clearance, non-lowered). So your APR panel would then be parallel also.

Not sure if this is helpful, but perhaps spending some more money to replace your OEM plastic splitter might get you the result you want.

Are the front support rods not adjustable in length? (splitter rods should be for this exact reason).

With the splitter in place, there is no longer a need for the OEM belly pan. You can certainly remove it.

I got mine from Steeda on Black Friday sale. eBay has them for a decent price too. Note there are single-piece products with high shipping, or 3-piece products even cheaper and perhaps free shipping. The 3-piece splitter will have seams that are slightly noticeable, so check your OCD level first.

You've got a point about the rods. They are adjustable indeed, and I believe I can use them to push on the splitter and level it. I'll also toss the belly pan, and hopefully this will get me closer to parallel, if not all the way. Thanks for the input. Still learning a lot about this car

Right, but I think a) your non-level OEM splitter will "fight" against lengthening the rods, and b) you may have to remove some fasteners around the center to allow it to drop down, creating a gap, making the mounting less secure, and I think that would be No Bueno.

Any experience with filling up that gap? I've been told people use gardening edging in between to seal it up if the gap is not too dramatic.

Without researching the install process for your APR splitter, I should think that some plastic spacers that slip over the center group of fasteners would provide the needed rigidity and safety. Try to find nylon cylinder-shape spacers with ID matching your fasteners. They come in different lengths so hopefully you won't have to do any cutting. My local ACE hardware would have these on hand.

THEN you can figure out a way to hide the gap cosmetically.

Or you can purchase the RTR style splitter. (Note that my splitter measures level to the floor, and I don't know if other brands will do the same.)
