It's disappointing that the splitter blocks off the brake cooling ducts in the factory belly pan.
Cooling ducts?

Yeah, you can see them in this picture where the plastic in the belly pan flows upward. So air going under the pan flows into that duct onto the brakes.

Nice write up though man! Will reference this when I go to install mine.

Thanks! I see it now :thumbsup:

Hopefully there is enough air that still flows between the pan and splitter.

I'm not planning on tracking the car so hopefully it won't become a big issue. I will check it out once I put the bumper back on and take it for a drive.

Great install documentation! I had no idea it was that involved and assumed it was much easier. I don't want to take the front bumper off more than once, so I will have to include this with a grill mod.

Regarding the holes you had to drill for the upper support rods; Looking at your pics in hindsight, would it have been easier to measure off and drill the holes from the back side? It looks like there is much more room to work and you can see where the crease in the center of the bumper cover is at.

Unless you have a small drill. Which I don't it would require taking out the upper grille insert. If you look at the picture, the grille insert is thick and prevents you from drilling straight up and down.

This would be the same issue if you wanted to utilize the nine holes across the front of the bumper to attach to the splitter. You can not get to those holes easily as they sit under that lip. You would have to use something like a white marker or use blue tape on the splitter and mark the holes on the splitter, remove it and drill the holes.

Just like I had to do for the front hole on the sides of the bumper.

Great write up, your right I did this couple weeks ago and could not find anything out there other than the vid where they guy has a lowsey how to lol. The instructions that come with the splitter are a joke.

We did it a bit different, we took off the OEM PP lip and aligned/drilled the holes with both splitters and no bumper. We had alot more space to work with and it helped us be as accurate as possible, it took longer but it worked out.

Just had the best body shop(as far as I am concerned) in Indy do the splitter while he was putting on the stripes.

I love it.I was so pleasantly surprised when he charged me ONLY $300 for everything- stripes and splitter install.

Super nice guy too.He does all the decal and body shop for all the local race teams.

Any one looking (like I did for a long time ) for one stop shop for this in Indy send me a PM.

I am going to be dropping off my magnetic car for the same(if I can get the splitter early next week) when I pick it up.

I was going to wait on the GT 350 or Steeda front fascia because they sit lower to cover some of the turbo pipes that hang low on that car that are visible from the front but so impressed with this,I am just going to the splitter and call it a day-save my self some $$$ for go fast mods!

Mines been sitting in my room for a while, can anyone recommend a shop in South Florida that can install this splitter? The last shop I called quoted me 5-6 hours of labor just to take the bumper off.... What a joke.

What are your opinions on mounting the supports to the lower grille length wise would it work, i would rather not have them just not sure what would happen without them

Yea, I live in a condo and HOA rules don't allow me to work on vehicle and I would probably mess up the drilling. I rather just bring it to a shop.
