Congratulations firstly.

BUT..... Could there be a chance that your dealer put you in as a stock order on that 8/6 date instead of the 7/28 retail order. It sounds to me like that is what could have happened. If you could get an updated DORA from your dealer I'm sure you could find out. I just have a feeling this is what has happened as NO retail orders seem to have been scheduled/assigned VINs yet.

Regardless, congrats on the best color.

Good point. That could have been the date they updated the order. Either way it worked in your favor so congrats again. Can't wait till all the other S550's start hitting the road.

I've been told in another thread that this is a Stock order as opposed to a retail order. The VOC says "Order Type 2". The dealer explicitly told me it would be a retail order after I read on these forums that retail orders had priority over stock.

So am I better or worse off at this point for being stock rather than retail? At appears I got a VIN number quicker than others, but does that mean it will be delivered before retail orders?

the retail orders are just now being scheduled. and it doesn't matter what order they go in. it depends on how many allocations the dealer has and when. for example, if i have a stock allocation and a retail order i will substitute my stock order for the retail to get it quicker.

most dealers are using their stock stangs to fill retail orders at this point due to the stock orders being job 1. but it creates uncertainty for delivery, which is why ford doesn't pull retails until everything is straightaway

Yes, could you do this for us? Then us Retail people will know we will (hopefully) start expecting VINs, too.

Thanks Y'all! I'll see what I can do! I've been hounding them for a DORA, but it doesn't seem to be a priority! Maybe someone here can pull one, or is that only available to the dealer?

He changed it to stock without you knowing. Once the dealers find out that stock will be ordered first, they want good business and a quick sale...so they did it so you would get it here faster. Mine SAID they did that too.

I was told by my dealer, don't expect the car until November. I ordered day 1, 5/20. Dealer sent it in as a retail order. It's currently sitting as Priority 01. I'm told I should get a VIN today.

Sent a message to Ford service asking for any info on my order - got this back this afternoon:

"...scheduling for retail orders should begin next week, so be sure to check back on Friday. You can continue to check with me for updates. Have a great weekend!"

I was told to check today, earlier this week. So I'll wait and see by the end of the day.

I believe priority 01 is a code that a regional sales director can put in for you to bump you up in order. (I may be wrong there don't take my word for gospel.) In other words you have been waiting a long time and they are bumping you up. Let us know what happens.
