This happens all the time. The GT350R's MSRP was only $7,995 more than the GT350, but replacing just its carbon fiber wheels from the Ford parts counter will cost you $20,000. And the new BMW M3 can be optioned with carbon fiber bucket seats that are a $3,800 option - or $35,410 from the BMW parts counter aftermarket, if/when they ever have availability.Holy crap! It’s a $1k option on GT500s. I’ve read CF is an issue for all Manufacturers it seems.
