I’m looking at a few GT350s without the CF instrument panel. Anyone ever installed the factory CF on a non-CF dash? How Difficult? Is it worth just finding a vehicle with CF IP?

If you find a vehicle that is spec’d with everything you want and for a price you don’t mind paying, I don’t think it should be a deal breaker. Especially today where it seems good deals are hard to come by. You can find OEM panels from junk yards like Midway Mustang or from a top quality shop like Beith performance or MPR.

It’s the same process to replace like any mustang. Just don’t force it and using interior trim tools helps. Worse thing is you break a tab but depending on which one you won’t notice when installed. You may lose some of the small clips but those can be bought on Amazon for $10 (pack of 20). I swapped out my PP dash for a GT350 one and it was straight forward. No broken tabs.

My understanding is that the CF dash piece is quite expensive...

So does the CF panel just snap on from the front?

Yes. You can watch any video on YouTube that involves changing the gauges and it’ll be the same steps. The center dash pieces comes off after the piece to the right of the glove box.

All clips.

I actually forgot one step which is unplugging the gauges before pull the center piece completely away. Not difficult

Holy crap! It’s a $1k option on GT500s. I’ve read CF is an issue for all Manufacturers it seems.
Yeah the option was $500 on the GT350. The standalone OEM piece is $$$$$ after the fact though. Has been since the beginning.

I was very particular in my specs when searching for my GT350. I think the carbon really brings the interior up a significant notch. Not sure I could stomach $3k though (and then worry about a snapping clips during install)

Like others have said, it was a measly $500 option from the factory that should’ve been standard since it dresses up the interior so well. When I was looking for my ‘19 I was surprised to find so few cars with the carbon dash. I believe it was more popular on the ‘20.

I’ll swap my standard dash for a replacement from MPR one of these days and also do the shifter bezel and e-brake handle. All of that together is less than $2k, which I guess isn’t terrible.
