Is there any news on tunes being offered in the future? I've heard about tunes for the ecoboost and gt, but not so much the v6.

V6 and Ecoboost sales were neck and neck last I checked but our engine isn't getting any love yet... which is strange since it's the same engine as before!

I read somewhere that Ford detuned the v6 to make the ecoboost look better. If that is the case, how much hp could we potentially see from a tune?

They rated the V6 with 87 octane this time to fudge the numbers.

If anything the V6 has gotten stronger.

Do we know that for a fact? In the 2011 mustang brochure it has an asterisk for the GT saying numbers achieved with premium fuel but not for the V6.

I don't think the 6 was detuned. I think that the addition of the center resonator and new mufflers is where our 5 hp went. I think that the 6 has actually gotten stronger with the new intake. Case in point my axleback seems to have opened up around 15-20hp... (Not dyno tested, calculated from 0-60 times so not all that accurate)

I got a SCT tuner and bought a Lund tune. I didn't dyno it so I really don't know what numbers were gained, but second gear will fry the tires off the rimes now it if get on it..

And a resigned intake because the hood is lower. Come on, there's no conspiracy about de tuning the 6. It is what it is. If they wanted you to buy the EB more they would have just not made a 6 to begin with. They just want you to buy a Ford. Period.
Looks like rental companies could give a crap too, they have EBs as rentals as well as the 6.

Actually they didn't want to make the 6. It was only after they determined that they couldn't make the EB cheap enough that they added the 6 in. That is why the 6 does not come in premium trim. It was meant to bridge the gap between their base price point and the Ecoboost.

The redesigned intake was rumored to be the reason for the hp drop. Like I said before I do not think this is the case. I think our 6 is actually capable of producing more hp the the stock Ecoboost. Our power is being held up in the restrictive factory exhaust system and air box.

On a some what related note, it still annoys me why they didn't offer the same option for the V6 as the Eco or GT!

Ive tried many of the reputable tuners out there and had bad experiences with tuning in my 2012 and 2014 GT's, so my 2015 GT will be staying stock.
The difference the tunes made weren't enough for me to potentially risk warranty.

The EB has a 40 ft-lbs torque advantage over the v6, that alone was enough of a reason to go with the EB. If you are into tuning the EB has an even bigger advantage.
