Anyone here tune their car?

We are not talking about V6 vs EB.... Back to the OP's original question.... BAMA is suppose to be working on a tune for our V6. As far as I know this is the only company currently working on a tune.

Personaly I am going to be upgarding things like intake and exhaust before any tune. You will be surprised what you can do with the right combination of parts and the stock tune.

When I get a chance, will check with my tuner and see if SCT is working on anything for the V6. One interesting thing is the switch from a MAF system to MAP on the EB and 3.7. I'm not sure that will affect tunability, but I can try to find out.

Bolt ons will take you far, but a good tune makes the power delivery much smoother. I have a few bolt ons with my '13 3.7....car made 300 rwhp, 291 tq with shortie headers, H pipe, cat back, JLT cai, alum d/s, and tune. I'm planning on stepping up to a '15 V6, and doing the same mods....then adding a custom turbo system. My version of the EcoBoost..

I am speaking mainly about the coyote and V6 motors as I have no experience with ecoboost.
Here is some friendly advice on tuning:
Tuning can be like ‘’opening a can of worms’’. Once you flash your car, there’s no turning back!
First, ask yourself, why are you tuning?
To get a few more 10th’s or mph in the ¼ mile?
More SOTP feel, response?
Using bolt-ons/mods that require a tune?
Firmer shifts desired (auto)?
Can you afford a new engine ($10k/coyote)/trans if something catastrophic were to happen due to the tune? The V6 is a lot more inexpensive than the coyote.
Yes, by law Ford is supposed to prove the tune was the cause of the failure but good luck on that one. It would be very easy for them to deem the tune was the cause. If they do good luck fighting Ford in court on that one…
The good news is, the chances of your engine blowing due the tune or otherwise and having your warranty denied is very low
If you do tune, I recommend becoming versed on datalogging to ensure your car is running right. Engine damaging excessive knock (pulled timing) and or lean conditions are unacceptable! Some tuners will work more with you on getting the tunes right than others. Beware of crap gas, especially common with winter blends. In many cases you aren’t just going to set it and forget it. No matter how reputable the tuner is don’t just trust your tuner no matter what, all cars are different in response to tuning.

If you are the neurotic type (worry about every little thing with your car) and or really need to know your warranty is 100% intact without question, tuning is not for you.

I assume some V6 tunes will roll out in the next few months, but people need to temper expectations for the amount of parts that are going to be coming out, the 3.7 market was already small before, the Eco will hurt it even more unfortunately. There is also always a chance they cut the 3.7 off as well in the next 2-3 years (the 3.7 is awesome and is a great engine, I love mine) so that may deter the aftermarket as well.

Just reviving this post because it has been weeks past the estimated date for these tunes and i was pleased by the half second time shaving off the quarter mile from just a single tune shown in the 2011-2014 mustang v6. American Muscle you do you guys have any idea how much longer it'll take?
