i really dig these cars with stripes and to me, it's iconic... i jumped on the first msrp deal i could find, but sadly, no stripes. i came across a picture yesterday of another ruby red with white stripes and fell in love. anyone added stripes to the car after the fact? did you go with vinyl or paint? how much did you pay? thanks!

and a photoshop

Installed these myself on a black roof stripe delete car. Did a professional enough job for a first time amateur that Big Worm put pic of my car on their website.

Not a GT350, but am currently in the process of doing my own myself. My father does vinyl professionally. At first it was daunting, but after doing a few sections...can easily be done by yourself! Measure 800 times, apply once.

We just used 1" tape to marker the center space. (Must get this part just right!) and then laying the vinyl next to it to keep it straight. Has worked flawlessly so far, and it's really not that bad once you get the hang of it.

the only thing that concerns me with vinyl is uneven paint fade if the vinyl were to ever come off.

That is a downside. They can leave ghosting. I think it shouldn't be nearly as bad with a deep metallic such as RR as compared to a straight gloss color.

Mine lives in a garage and only comes out play on occasion. The paint is also very well cared for with sealant, glaze and wax so I am not to concerned about fading or ghosting.

You could always hit the area the vinyl was applied to with some 80 grit sandpaper when you pull it off. Will take the color right down to the faded!

Find a local vinyl shop if you have one in your area. I had this stripe installed in March 2016 for $150 and excellent quality.

I added an inch over the standard 8 inch and I think it looks great. 10 was a bit wide, and was pretty much riding the slopes. 9 inch brought it about 1/2 from the slope and was just right.

I have taken off stripes and graphics that have been on cars up to 10 years that also lived out doors all that time and never had any paint fade. It's just not an issue with modern paints.
