So I'm interested in a base ecoboost Mustang 6 spd w/ performance pack & Recaros ( and MAYBE spare tire and enhanced security ) b/c the car will be my daily commuter and possible weekend in auto-x warrior. Even though I'm 90% sure this is what I want I'm still not gunslinger enough to order one up sight unseen or w/ out a test drive. To that end I've been looking at extended inventories for dealerships in my area - Houston, TX 77095 - and also around the area my parents live in - St. Louis, MO 63031 - but EVERY car I've seen has been a Premium model and the vast majority of those have been automatic trans.

I always kinda figured that Ford would want to get the ball rolling pumping out mostly Premium models w/ all the bells and whistles and the more pedestrian cars would come later but I also thought there would be at least a few PP / Recaro / 6 spd cars around for test drives even if it were a GT? So I'm kinda curious if anyone out there ordered a "base" ecoboost or GT car w/ 6 spd & PP in particular and if so what's the status of your order or projected delivery?
I ordered a base GT, spoiler delete, with 3:55. I'll add leather aftermarket. Adding $4,000 to the car price for leather and a cooler console/screen wasn't in the cards :)

Ordered on 5/22. Still no VIN.

Basic GT with PP and Recaros. Dont know dont know and dont know. Dealership isnt giving me any info except its supposed to be dealer stock order.

I hate leather interior, stereo systems, and anything that doesnt make it go faster or stop better.
Mine will also be a basic GT + 6spd manual +PP + Recaros.
Leather gets too damn hot and soon enough dries out and cracks in Arizona.
Stereos drown out the beauty of that V8's exhaust note.

Crisp manual shifting, effortless passing, phenomenal braking, and stable fast-cornering [IRS + Torsen differential] may sound too basic to some, but it'll suit me just fine.
On Order: [July 15/'14]: 2015 [300A]*GT/Ingot Silver/6spd/ Performance Package/Recaros/Reverse Sensing

Yeah, I decided to splurge and add the Recarros but given it's like a $1500 option I've kinda wondered if it's something I could do w/ out depending upon how supportive and comfortable the "standard" seats turn out to be?
Check around the forum for threads reporting on actually seeing and sitting in the car. Everyone says the standard seats are fantastic, and you don't need the Recaros unless you are racing. Music to my ears!

I was actually going to get a base GT myself at first, until I realized the selectable drive modes are only available on the premium models. I'll be driving mine year round, and although I generally hate electronic nannies, I do think the snow/wet mode will actually be useful in winter here since we do see a good amount of snow. The biggest problem with sports cars in winter is the amount of power they put down, so an electronic system to help dumb down the throttle should reduce excessive wheel spinning on ice, I'm hoping. For whatever reason, I just don't like second gear starts lol.
I think even the base car has driving modes including snow mode.

It is not a single button, it needs a combination of buttons is what I have heard.

Just the other day I located exactly what I want at a dealer a couple hours away. It was part of their dealer order.

Base GT, with PP and Recaro's in Magnetic.

My name is now attached to it. BOOM!

Yeah, that is the very first thing that I will do is either something like that or at a minimum mask it off and hit it with plasti-dip. It won't be as obvious since I will have Magnetic but still.

Honestly the only things I would want from premium are...

-Rear diffuser
- Soft touch upper door panels and leather stitched dash panel (yeah I know an extra $400ish, but a no brainer if you are already optioning premium)

I think mine is pretty basic...Fastback, Auto, Perf Pkg, that's it!

Ordered 5/28...no natta yet!

Not sure whether it's a retail order or dealer order....just thinking what difference does it make...it' will be here when it gets here.

In summary..."waiting impatiently"...Ha!

Is one of these yours? One's going to Van Bortel and the other one is going to Towne.

Yep I've heard that as well which is why I want to actually sit in and test drive a car before ordering one.

Nice find! How much searching effort did that take? From what I can see there aren't a lot of those cars sitting around.

The Ford.com search tool is pretty powerful.

Actually I didn't do much searching, I pretty much just got lucky. There were two more base GT with PP, one was black without Recaro's and the other was CO with Recaro's in other dealer ships in the LA and Orange County areas.

If S550 would be used as a summer car, heated seats might not be necessary (or if you prefer recaros/cloth over leather seats) and if there is a plan to upgrade audio anyway, base might start to make good option.

But I am surprised by lack of driving mode (Snow).
Line lock and launch control should also have been on EB Base 6MT, as some people are going to mod it.

Base EB 6MT w/3.55 invoicing around 25K sounds nice.

Fortunately in Houston, TX I don't have to worry about any of that, at the most it may get down to freezing for a handful of days all winter long. It would be nice to have the cooled seats though but I can live w/ the Recaros assuming the A/C works well!:D

I've been searching the "Extended Inventory" for both 77095 & 63031 but haven't seen a single M6 / PP car yet? Is there a way to extend the search range?
