For 25 years worth of Mustangs, I've debated installing a blower but never actually did it. Curious to hear the experiences of folks who have installed one.

Especially hopeful to hear from anyone with a manual Mach 1 but all are appreciated.

FOR THOSE WITH REGRETS ONLY, it would be interesting to see a reply post with the following info:

Year:
Trim:
Manual / auto:
Rear gears:
Blower mfr & type:
RWHP (if known):
Tuner:

With a short blurb on why it wasn't a 100% positive experience.

Thanks in advance everyone!

I'm in "it's fun, but I wouldn't do it again" camp. Mainly because I have no interest in drag racing, and it's mostly unusable on the street unless you're willing to take significant risks and consequences of being pulled over for 2x over the speed limit violations. Plus, the headache of dealing with failed cats or messing with catless setups is just not something I needed in life.

The idea of having a toy with monstrous power is very exciting at first, but over time it becomes just a car that you cannot really floor anywhere unless you take it to a track.

If you go into it not expecting additional charges you are fucked. Everybody may be sayin how great it is but that's not realistic on a high compression engine with boost unless your prepared. Is it worth it? Absolutely! But extra costs are a given. Tranny, maybe. Clutch, maybe. Half shafts, maybe. Roll the dice. Personally my axles and tranny have 105,xxx miles on them and have been over 750whp for 50k miles now but i don't track it. That could kill then quick.

No regrets, keeping it low 600s since it's just my daily driver that I rip around town. Everytime I take the car out I go WOT at least once as evidenced by this pic :giggle:

What setup do you have? Brand, model, PSI, rear axle? Auto or manual? Injectors? If I was going to do it, was thinking about the same target range.

ESS G2 on the largest 125mm pulley (~7 psi). Mine is a 6MT with 3.55 gears. Haven't gotten it dynoed yet but I'm thinking low 600s after going catless

All you need with the kit fueling wise is a boost a bump and GT500 injectors.

Sometimes kinda feel I should of gotten a p1x instead of the D1sc. Outside of that, no regrets.

My regret is E85. We have no E85 stations around me so I have to travel and also bring cans.

When things break, I have regrets. Broke a supercharger crank pulley in November, wasn't fun.

I'm still thinking of pulling the blower off.

You already know my take…wish I had done it sooner. But I would have bought the tuner kit and got my own injectors with a custom tune upfront.

sounds to me like you would be perfectly happy with a complete kit and a canned tune, low 600 wheel, one and done 😬👍🏼

Regarding injectors, I see most suppliers offer them as an option. Are they needed regardless of how much boost or what type of supercharger? Is a boost a pump also needed regardless?
