I’m keen on a Steeda H pipe for My20 GT, but I have heard some members saying they have had some new rattles after a h pipe install and/or some exhaust pipe sag...I’m happy with the stock sound with the active exhaust but would like just a little bit more noise but I do get very OCD with rattles, uneven exhausts and so on and so on

I only get rattled in track mode. Sport there isn’t any and sport is louder than stock Track by quite a bit.

Thanks for your input. Once my engine temp is up, I only have the engine and exhaust in race track mode.
Are you just using the clamps ? Or did you get the h pipe welded on?

I had to use the clamps everyone in my local area scoffed at welding it and said it would be difficult and wanted $250-300. The supplied clamps are a little weak. I’d recommend getting those double walled clamps those would probably work plenty good. But my installer did put some exhaust sealant in the clamps to prevent any leaks so I haven’t had any issues.

Pypes sells a clamp that looks the same. But it is more $$

Just ordered the Steeda h-pipe. Seems like the consensus is to use a better clamp. I was looking to purchase this Pypes clamp, Good choice?

I ended up using the clamps that came with the Steeda h pipe. All the clamps were sold out at the time of install. There is some staining on the pipe/clamp that looks like it is leaking. But I cant hear the leak. Also my tailpipes haven't relaxed or moved. I think the key is to actually use a torque wrench. When I worked back and forth it got a lot tighter than I would have if I didn't use the torque wrench.

Save yourself the headache and 100% use better clamps. Mine leaked and I even covered the cut in permatex. I bought these on Amazon and they worked well so far. Also used Permatex with them as well because I don’t want to deal with this anymore.

Delete the periods.

A little more expensive than the Hooker ones that I wanted but those are always sold out and I had them on back order two months before I decided to just pay extra. The ones posted above are really solid construction. I don’t see them leaking as they are similar to the oem clamps on the resonator. Just make sure it’s sold by Amazon. Most of the negative reviews are getting the wrong product from third party sellers.
