I want to make a GT Ecoboost. Beautiful twin turbo. Im going to buy the biggest Ecoboost badges and replace all my GT mwhahaha
I am really considering this as a potential future pet project: Putting a v6 twin-turbo 'Ecoboost' engine (similar to the one in the GT) in an s550. :D

Don't have my car yet, so no negative comments yet. But I am fully prepared for them: "Such a waste of money!", "Ow, you got the fake one?", "You should have gotten a <insert German car here> instead." People with 'exotic cars' (yes, 'exotic': only 26 sold so far) are generally met with jealousy and a general consensus of "You must be a rich bastard and/or probably a criminal." I am just praying it will not turn into situations where they actually key your car, because "I am jealous and it's OK, because a rich bastard should be able to afford to repair it anyway.". Yes, this actually happened to me before on a brand new 1 week old Focus :frusty:. I kid you not.

Actually he quite enjoyed things like this. It was how some people just come on this forum to spew garbage and stir the pot when they don't even have a Mustang but yet they can say what they want with no recourse and then he would call them out for what they were and he was silenced. He was fed up with being smacked for pointing out the truth.
well that's car forums in general lol

"Why would you want the V8 version?"

Ummmmm because Mustang.

*sorry I am just a bit old school and stubborn, as a huge import fan though I do find the Eco-Boost VERY impressive, just not for me*

I've probably encountered jealousy but not negativity. I say probably because nobody is going to come out and say it. I've just gotten that impression. The shoe has been on the other foot with friends of mine getting very nice cars. I just try not to act like a jacka** with my car, and I try to share some real enthusiasm for other's cars. Many don't realize there is often something to learn if you look and listen close enough.

I have not gotten any serious negative comments yet. I have gotten just some good natured picking by some Mopar only friends but they are just having fun with me. I just give it right back to them. I have gotten plenty of good comments.

My ex wife saw it one day with her son (my ex stepson). He said "wow, that looks like a cool car". She replied "it looks like a piece of shit". I just laughed.
Not quite the topic, but once I test drove a Nissan 370Z and my son wanted to stop by and show his mom, my ex-wife. I let him drive into her work lot and I called her to come out. She said "It's completely impractical" in a disapproving tone. I responded, "That depends on what I'm trying to do with it, and since it's pissing you off, I'd say it's spot on."

"It's a pretty good car, in a straight line at least."

"Bad ride, bad suspension, bad handling, bad engine."

"Mustangs can't corner."

"LOLCANTTURN"

"That's a lot of power, but good luck getting it to the road."

"Power is nothing without control, bub."

And so on. An open question to all of y'all who own the new S550: have you any stories of your Mustang's capabilities taking guys who spout things like the above by total surprise, or even convinced them to consider buying a Mustang? I figure there's got to be a good few out there--god knows there's a certain negative image that's planted in a lot of folks heads. (I've personally run into a guy who thinks that the engines in the Mustang and several other American cars are still cast iron and OHV.)
I'm coming from a 2013 Subaru BRZ which is pretty much a staple in the handling category right now. I'm really impressed in the way my S550 handles. It feels great! :ford:

It's not me. It's Tim Hilliard. He use to post here but I want a camera setup like his.
Are the cameras sold separately or are they part of a single kit, with everything you need included?

The only negative comment Ive had was, my boss said that I must be going thru my mid life crisis, lol. I think he was mad because my wife bought me my 2015 and he doesn't have one, Mustang that is.

Guy in a 2014 or 15 Accord LX pulls up to me and compliments the car and then he's like "I hear the turbo, you must be making like 700 hp!" I told him no more like half of that because it's the EB, and he's like "oh it's a 4 banger, should've gotten the v8" and I told him "awh you only have the LX, should've gotten the V6" and he just opened his eyes real wide and drove away. It made my day haha

I had a guy at work say he was looking at my car and thought I had a dent in it until he saw the other side was the same. It was the body line on the side of the car that starts back up after the rear fender. I don't see how it could possibly look like a dent but he then proceeded to bring up numerous times to different people how stupid it looked  I still don't really understand how he saw a dent and neither did anyone else.

I don't really get negative comments, I mean yeah the "shoulda got a V8" nonsense but people that know me are glad I have a Mustang as I've talked about getting one for about seven years now..lol.

I think people who make negative comments are usually jealous because they don't have something that's new or as nice- which I've never understood. I see a nice car, I compliment the driver, no matter what it is. Even if I truly didn't like it, I'd never say anything negative because it's all relative. You bought your car, spent money and love it. Who am I to make derogatory comments, especially if I know you personally.
When I drive I always flash my lights at other Mustangs of any year. It's a great club to be in and I'm glad to be back after all these years!!

It's mostly been compliments aside from the "Is it a V8?" comments which typically ends with a minor frown when I reply no.

The most memorable one was actually from my dad. He sounded pretty disappointed too when I told him it wasn't which surprised me. I didn't really peg him as much of a car guy but apparently he used to own a '78 Camaro before I was born. After he gave it a test drive though, he changed his tune :D
