I have a 2019 Mustang GT and need to replace only one of my tail lights. However, I see a lot of 2015-2017 tail lights on the used market compared to the 2018+. Is there any difference with the 2015-2017 tail lights and 2018+ tail lights?
  1. Any differences cosmetic wise? For example, are they angled different?
  2. Any differences with the wiring? For example, a 2015-2017 tail light will plug right into a 2018+ Mustang?
Thank you in advance for your help!

They're curved a bit, but they are completely interchangeable (aside from obvious wiring difference for actual Euro models).

edit » read a bit more clearly and saw you're needing just one. You want them to match, so either get two 15-17 tails or pick up one 18+ light.

Differences already noted multiple times, and they’re spot on. Tail light not covered under warranty anymore? I personally like the 18 curved style more than 15-17, just bought a pair from another member.

One day when I was cleaning the car, I happened to notice a few one inch long cracks on the tail light. I'm thinking some kind of object struck it hard when it was parked. I doubt that would fall under warranty.

Correct you are. That’s unfortunate.

Were they plug and play? I was lead to believe in another thread that they required a different kind of harness/plug

100 percent plug and play. Nothing additional needed going from OEM 18 to my 17 at least.
