Hello All,
I have the competition orange premium gt and I want my calipers to be the same color. I know about the caliper covers but to me they look cheesy. I m wondering if anybody here knows where I can get competition orange calipers?
I was hoping that someone may paint calipers and are selling them. I looked at those youtube videos but still doesn t look professional.
I live in West Chester,Pa.
I ve been on the mustang websites but only see brembo red color.
Thanks again,
Blake

Your best bet for painting calipers (if you're willing to put in the work) is the G2 caliper paint kit:

https://www.tirerack.com/brakes/bra...intSystem+Set&partNum=G2166&cat=Caliper+Paint

It'll take a few hours of elbow grease to get everything taped off and apply the 3-4 coats of paint (it's quite a tedious job), but the results are excellent. They sell them in several colors including Orange, although the orange color they show doesn't look like a close match to CO.

Personally , I didn't want my calipers and car to have the same color. I thought about lime green and I wish I had done that. However, I was slightly worried that it might clash with my competition orange car and ended up going with the red. The red looks fine (goes very well with the CO), but I should have taken the chance on the lime green. I think it would have been very eye-catching (in a good way).

I actually just did mine in their standard orange, and it does match quite well. I'll snap some pictures once it's done drying since I just did them last night.

So all in all, from start to finish, took me and a couple friends 4 hours. We just rotated painting since it would get a little cramped after sitting on the garage concrete after a while. Just make sure you tape everything accordingly.

I also decided to be a little lazy and not paint the entire calipers. We only painted the parts of the caliper that would actually be visible looking in, also consider your wheels to see how much visibility to your calipers you'll actually have.

The G2 kit is awesome though and comes with everything you need. Like I said, just take your time. You'll notice as time goes after you initially add the reactor, the paint will thicken progressively and give you better covering.

Mine also took around 4 hours total, and I didn't bother painting much of the inside/non-visible parts of the calipers. I would recommend buying a couple of extra brushes from a home improvement store, as the one they give you is tiny.

My friend and I just did my fronts a couple of weeks ago. We used a brush for the first coat and a preval sprayer for the rest. The preval was a God send. It made short work of the last three coats and really came out nicely. I finally recieved my new Brembo stickers, so the pic is just the freshly painted caliper.

We took the time to sand down the front face of the caliper before painting. We also knocked down the casting lines for a smoother appearance. I will be flat blacking the rears since they aren't much to look at anyway.

No problem and thank you! I took the picture with my phone first, then emailed a resized version of it to myself, then uploaded it on my PC.

G2 paint is by the far the best, especially for the do it yourselfer. Like the others guys said it took me around 4 hours of actuall painting. But I spent a crap load of time prepping, even removing the brake pads. In hindsight I spent too much time on the prep. Lol
As for paint, G2 will paint match any color code that you want. It will cost extra though. I painted mine grabbber blue.

Dammmnn you guys are killing it with the G2. All your cars look great. I'm getting this done asap. I wonder if G2 has a nice silver, brushed aluminum or gunmetal finish and if so, does it look as good as the colors you guys chose

How long did it take you guys to get your custom paint kits? It says mine is in stock but it hasn't shipped and it's been like 5 days

Edit: Nevermind it delivered. They just didn't send a shipping confirmation

I got the standard orange kit. It luckily is a close match to Comp Orange and also I ordered it through Amazon, got it with Prime so free 3 day shipping!

And G2 has a good variety of colors, and they can custom match any color you want.

Yeah that's pretty much all you do. They provide you with a small brush. You can always use some bigger ones if you have any on hand. The paint levels itself out pretty well.
