I am torn between a Hellion TT kit or a fathouse 800 Whipple package. More than sheer power I want reliability and ease of use. I don’t feel like constantly chasing issues which has happened to me before with turbo kits. On the other hand I have talked to several people who have put 30-40k miles on Hellion kits without a single problem.

It would be much easier to do Hellion due to being near palm beach dyno. I just am impressed with the quality of the fathouse setup and there is just less moving parts with a whipple.

Probably will end up doing the hellion just because it’s so much easier to get the car to the shop, but haven’t decided yet.
I have Ford Performance springs, so time will tell if clearance becomes an issue. I think it will be okay with added caution.

I originally worked with Fathouse and was going to send them my car. Truthfully, I just could not justify the Fathouse premium over my build. Their 800R turbo package is $55k; when you add in the suspension stuff I did and the trans, I was going to be well over $60k.

Their Whipple package is $23k, so much more reasonable. I would not shy away from turbos.

Bottom or top mount TT kit? I ask because I’ve been talking with my buddy and he’s expressed his frustration with his bottom mount turbos and how tight it is to hook up lines and/or remove the turbos for maintenance. I was just on the phone with him last night when he was removing them. I imagine top mount would be better based on everything he’s told me and showed me in pics.

I’m glad I went with a single top mount. It’s going to have its own set of challenges to install, but not nearly as many as what I know about the bottom mounts that he has.
I know the bottom mounts fit tightly and servicing can be an issue, plus the inconvenience of needing to get under the car for leaks, etc. I still think those inconveniences beat the sacrifices required for top mount turbo kits. Do you have to relocate your PCM? How is heat management with the BL Fab kit. I looked into that kit when I was planning this build (it would have been a gen 2 coyote rather than 350) and was turned off by the non-street charecteristics.

I’m sure I’ll have to do a wire tuck at the very minimum, but possibly relocate the PCM too. I can already see that there will be some fabrication required to install the kit. I pretty much have everything needed for the install, with the exception of a few more things. I went the non traditional route to get here in that I purchased everything separately. It was certainly much more expensive than what is advertised for the kit.

As far as heat management goes, I ordered a Delta PAG 14” puller fan and a custom made fan shroud. I also had the entire hot side Jet-Hot coated. Install is a ways off, but I wanted to have everything in hand and ready to go as soon as I can get back into a house.

Here’s the list of parts purchased and/or in need of purchasing.
  • BLF Single Turbo Piping Kit (purchased)
  • Holley Low Ram Coyote IM (purchased)

Yea their turbo kit is crazy expensive. I find it hard to justify versus the hellion kit. You can upgrade the turbos in the hellion kit and add all sorts of goodies and still not hit 60k, not even close. At least their whipple kit isn’t like 2.5 times the cost of a generic install.

Time will tell. I am gonna talk to palm beach dyno and get their input. Turbos are definitely sexier than a blower. Only downside I see is just more moving parts and potential things that can go wrong. Everything else is upside versus a blower.

Super expensive and too rich for my blood. I got the upgraded 4-1 headers and upgraded BB turbos on my hellion kit, which I feel is sufficient for my needs. I really wanted the Aldo kit, but I was not going to put a BMR K member on the car, which Aldo's headers require, unfortunately.

There are certainly more moving pieces than a Whipple, but this car barely gets 2k miles a year, so I think it will be okay.

I don't have personal experience, but check out RSA - I think they're in Palm Beach - they do great work!

@Boosted350 what fuel system upgrades did you do with your TT kit?
ID1300XDS injectors and dual BAPs. With the 350's stock fuel system, I can comfortably run E85 with this setup and most likely make more power than the motor would enjoy lol
