I'm driving home from work yesterday enjoying the nice weather with my windows down and all of a sudden, this obnoxious little 2006ish Civic Si goes farting past me. I didn't even bother and by the sound of things, it wasn't anything serious. He slows down and keeps trying to tempt me and I just look at him and give him a thumbs down. He punches it again in 2nd and hits 3rd, but his car looks like it's standing still..

He's waiting for me at the red light ahead and immediately starts to talk s***! 2 teenagers with spikey hair and they're calling me a p***y. I respond to get more power and then I'll consider it next time. He starts going on and on about how he has enough power to smoke my 5-oh and how us Mustang guys think our cars are so fast and all we see is a slow Honda logo. I asked him what he thinks my car runs stock in a 1/4 miles and he had no response, just that he'll smoke me.

By this point, I'm annoyed of the little s*** and tell him to line the f*** up and let's go! Light turns green and I decided to give the little bastard the hit just to humiliate him some more, but he doesn't move an inch.. Instead, he then rolls off the line and drives off so I proceed with my normal driving. He waits for me to pull up and then starts his annoying taunting games again. I grab 2nd and clutch kit my car at about 40mph ripping the tires up to about 55mph sideways.

He no longer wants to pull up next to me.

I know there are some quick Honda's out there, but this clearly wasn't one of them. Do these punks actually think their basically stock 4cyls stand a chance?
Do you realize that his car only had 197hp, with like 150lb-ft torque? It's laughable.

It doesn't matter what the car is...you can make it fast. It's the punk kids that are to be called out, not the car.
Exactly!!!

What does "it's still a Honda" mean? Honda doesn't make worse cars than ford, and they have a pretty amazing racing heritage...
It means you take a little crappy Honda and put 20 grand in it and you basically threw your 20 grand in the garbage. They are slow and not very reliable.

Now, for a boring passenger car for my 70 something dad or mom, Honda makes just about the perfect vehicle.

There are exceptions. Most ricers think they are the exception though. Irritating. Like sand in the ass crack

I dunno. My friends Integra takes on Ferrari 458's and Mustang's all day long. They (Hondas) can be plenty fast if you put some time and money into them.

But then again, he works at a shop that runs a 7.49 second @189 mph Nissan GT-R.

Yes.. they can be fast. They can also be ugly gutted tin buckets.. .but hey... it is what it is.

smh....not many unbiased genuine car enthusiasts to be found here

I don't think its a matter of being an enthusiast or not. It is more a response to the "Ricers" of the Honda/import group, that do nothing but throw a shitty sounding fart pipe on the car and some stickers thinking they have a fast car. It is more their attitude than anything. I used to own a low 11sec DSM. I have been on both sides of the fence. I don't hate imports... just the ones who are idiot import owners.

I don't expect everyone to love everything with wheels and an engine, I just loathe reading the misinformation about cars they know nothing about. I didn't read who said what just skimmed through and had a few chuckles. I can't say I ever had a "fast" Honda but they are a blast to drive regardless. I was one of the rare kids in Elementary school to say I wanted a civic lol. Gran Turismo introduced them to me and I really liked them from there. Cars are incredibly subjective, I see no reason to hate on a brand and profile it because of some of their drivers. I'm not saying I completely disagree with things that were said either. There are definitely a vast majority of them that are ignorant douche canoes that think because one guys integra made 700 whp and put the hurt on a GTR, their own single cam 300k mile coupe somehow can do the same.

Wow one comment. Lol

What I mean is that its a honda. It's a 4 banger. Good for gas.

When's the last time you saw an Si that was fast. Sure you can dump 20k into the car and fly 10's in the 1/4. it's still a HONDA. I give Few imports respect just due to the fan base. A bunch of kids.

F1 really? We are talking about street cars.
An Si that was fast? Well....that 2006 Si has a K20, so it's 200hp from the factory, and weighs well under 3000lbs. Those cars respond VERY well to cheap mods like a Hondata reflash, headers, and an intake...I wouldn't ignore that completely, I wouldn't want to go against one in my ecoboost, a V6, or a pre-coyote GT, especially on an autox or roadcourse.

S2000 is 4 cyl, Integra Type R is 4 cyl, Acura RSX-S is 4cyl, all of which would likely destroy the majority of mustangs on the track.

Why do so many people need to pick sides? EVERY car company has made some great cars, and EVERY car company has made some utter shit.

I don't even try to pretend to be an unbiased enthusiast. I am a very very biased auto enthusiast. And I make no apologies for it. *shrug*

If I like melon launching fart cans, I wouldn't drive v8 powered cars.

Edit: oh and genuine doesn't have to be unbiased either.

Hmmm a 7.5 second 0-60. I mean I would be afraid to face it in a minivan.

No matter if there are "fast" Hondas, it's STILL a HONDA. I don't get the rice mentality, but I just stopped paying attention to most import cars for this exact reason.
And we have just a Ford, seriously get real a Mustang regardless of motor isn't all that impressive. I love em but someone with an elitism attitude in this car is hilarious:lol:

There was a guy roaming the forums earlier who swore anything less than 1200RWHP was slow. Anything less than 900RWHP wasn't even drivable for him... or something like that. He seemed genuinely confused that some folks thought a Mustang was fast.

This sh*t is all relative man. I thought my Ecoboost was fast. I think this GT is really fast -- but I'm a noob used to driving garbage and econoboxes, like my wife's VW Sportwagen, or her previous Honda Civic, or even a V6 pickup truck. Slow, slow.

If you drive a '15 Mustang (doesn't even matter which motor), you're faster than most of the crap on the road. That's a fact. Prolly 90th percentile or higher, even in the 3.7 V6. Ain't elitist to say so. Whether or not that's fast enough for YOU personally, is another matter entirely.
