These are factory installed to the metal parcel shelf. They seem to be part of the antenna system. Ideas

Thanks for the pics. This is the location from which my 2019 GT350 broadcasts 4G data and no doubt the location of the antenna that runs to the TCU. 2020 may be different - do you have a low profile or shark fin antenna on the roof?

Defrost wire is blocking the part number, but below it says "PIFA Antenna" which is indeed a mobile/4G antenna.

The 2020 GT500 job 2 car has a harness that goes to the parcel shelf. I dont believe there is an antenna on the shelf. Soon I will be installing a roll cage, so i will make it a point to examine the parcel shelf when i do.

All of these different models and years seem to have subtle differences. My advice is to find the TCU and disconnect every harness that attaches to it.

Right, but to add confusion to the matter, he has a pic right there of a PIFA Antenna in the package tray, at the precise location where I found that the 4G broadcasts from my car.

If the tech hadn't been in the rear seat, I'd have gotten better pictures. The overhead shop light reflection sucks.

Disconnecting would not be difficult. Drop the seat backs. Pop the trim. Seat belt trim first. Slide it along the belts away from the larger trim piece. Pop the larger trim and the parcel shelf lifts right out. I watched him do it.

Shark fin.
That's what I thought, which is what is perplexing. I believe Tom has shown that the shark fin pulls double duty and is what broadcasts and receives the 4G mobile data. But here you have a photo of a mobile antenna in your package tray.

As I've got the fuse pulled, do I need to go back and unplug the antenna ? Also, is it the large silver on or, the smaller black one?

The exposed metal silver rectangle with slots and such is the PIFA antenna.

As far as the fuse goes, YMMV, but on my car the TCU is dead with the fuse pulled, so no need to disconnect the antenna. There are clearly differences between our cars, but one thing that did not change is that the owner's manual lists the TCU as the sole component on a fuse. For 2020, that's fuse #8.

I can't say for sure if that antenna is related to your TCU/4G, but it is the right type of antenna for data and in the exact location my 4G antenna is. I should lift up the package tray and take a peek. How do you get it off?

All you folks have to do, regardless of year or model, is find the TCU and disconnect all the coaxial leads and the power/data harness. You dont have to pull fuses or antennas..... just disconnect the modem

Okay... you both sort it out. I know the harness and there may or may not be an antenna on the parcel shelf. It just depends.

Have fun.
