Hopefully you will have the same HS! reaction that the rest of us have had, Mark, it really is amazing stuff. That said, I fear that it will be more suited to short term applications as I've already seen a noticeable decrease in slickness on the wife's car that I just coated. But it's perfect for a topper after a wash and best of all, it's SO easy and quick to apply, I love it.
I’m definitely looking forward to trying it. The weather is still holding up well here, so I should get an opportunity to give it a shot before the cold sets in.

Hey guys, no doubt this topper is really making your cars pop. They look great.

It appears this product works its magic through SI02 which raises a towel related application/removal question for me. It’s my understanding that to prevent any SI02 product from loading up your microfiber after use you need to either wash the towel right away or put it in a pre-soak for a few days. I don’t have the bandwidth to do either of those things so I’d be down to a one use consumable towel. Which of course means I’m not going to use a $6.00 towel.

So what are y’all doing?

I’ll be curious how Amplify works as well, but my experience with other SiO2 detail sprays is that there isn’t enough “ceramic” in them to gum up the microfiber towels. I usually just wash them when I’m done and don’t have any issues. Same goes if you use it as a drying aid, it will get diluted enough that it wont

Kirkland brand microfiber rags are actually quite good and are fairly inexpensive. TRC has a box of rags that are good value (50 count). Can be reused or one time use. At less than $1/rag, I would have no issues making them a one time use. They are lower GSM, so not as plush

Mark, I just had a box of those TRC cheapies you linked come in. They are surprisingly soft and I’m trying them out now. But my initial take is that they’re not going to leave any damage of any kind if used properly (I.e., clean). I haven’t yet tried them on my black car. I had been using the Edgeless 300 as a pretty much consumable towel. They‘re amazing but they’ve really gone up since the last case I bought. Still only ~$1.30 each so not too bad I guess.

Awesome. I’m thinking about ordering a box as well, especially since I’m thinking about polishing off my current ceramic coating and doing a new one in the spring. I’d much rather toss out a $1 rag than a $6 one. I’ve seen others say they’re perfect for use as leveling rags for coatings.

Let us know how you like them after using them a few times.

If it’s a worry for you then I’d recommend you soak your used rags in a mix of water and Rags To Riches microfiber wash detergent.

Even just a bucket of water should be enough to dilute the amount of SiO2/ceramics in a detail spray

I run all my towels thru the washer after I am done every time. But thats just me... I am a single guy, no other laundry to be done beside mine... But a bucket with some water and MF detergent to throw them in and wash on the weekend or even every other weekend would work...

Thanks guys I appreciate it.

Like I mentioned this seems pretty much the right thing to do but just doesn’t work for me. I just wondered if anyone else sacrificed a towel to use this product.

I may spring for a bottle and do an A-B with a product I use for the same purpose to see if it’s better. Sounds like they do about the same thing and last about the same time frame but no ceramic in the one I currently use:

Washed the last of the three vehicles yesterday, this time the wife's Caddy. Gave her a coat of Amplify when I finished and that stuff is the bomb! Unfortunately, the little 16oz bottle doesn't go very far, I probably have a quarter of it left after doing the truck, the Mustang, and her car so I ordered a gallon.

Also realized I was low on Brake Buster, VRP, and OG Tire Dressing so ordered gallons of each..OUCH!

What is this OG tire dressing you speak of?

Will let you know when I get mine and try it out. But as mentioned previously, I haven’t needed to immediately rinse/soak a microfiber after using a detail spray.
