I'll try to snap and host a low pic of the grill. As far as hp levels, that's all controlled by your tune, we did see 30hp diff on the factory stock IC vs a heat soaked factory IC. Our IC drops ait down near ambient and keeps it there, it's also recovers very quickly since it doesn't heat up as much and it has a huge ambient face.I'd like to see what your lower grill looks like with the removal of "obstructions". I was also thinking of doing something similar for my CAI.
I'd also like to figure out at what temp you cross the threshold where you see the big power drops.
This IC is a beast, nice job!

Have you opened the grill up in front of the airbox inlet? We saw a .5 psi reduction in pressure drop at 70mph in our testing by simply drilling each dimple out in the stock grill, that's huge when your pushing the turbo to the right side of the compressor map...
Can you shoot a picture of this mod please?
The shutters have no impact on engine warmup. The thermostat is closed when the engine is cold preventing coolant from flowing through the radiator. My car is a daily driver. Ideally I would like the grill shutters to still work as I would bet it helps engine warmup in winter.....

The shutters are an aerodynamic aid to help economy.
Did u just cut the bottom half off and do u have any pics?? Also can your tuner set the shutters to work like factory? Also if you have any tune at all the shutters will have been tuned to stay open 100% of the time. Even the OTS Cobb tune has them set wide open 100% of the time. I've experimented with the stock values on my car and noticed no difference in warmup time or fuel economy but I drive all in city traffic. It may help on highway driving. I have the shutters in place on the upper grille but removed on the lower grill.
I don't have any pics of it. I actually cut out the center support for the lower shutters, removed the shutters themselves, and unscrewed and removed the bar that connects the upper to the lower shutters. You will not be able to put them back to stock if you do it this way but it opens it up more with no center bar in there.Did u just cut the bottom half off and do u have any pics??
