With the base system you are probably safe. With the Shaker system that has the built-in amplifier/dsp you can pretty much guarantee that there is not a full signal going to the rear speakers.

I'm not aware of anyone measuring the frequency response of either system though.
before doing the tuning on mine, my friend measured the response just to check for head unit black magic, he didnt seem to find much, maybe some bass clipping. He said it wasnt as bad as he thought it might be.

before doing the tuning on mine, my friend measured the response just to check for head unit black magic, he didnt seem to find much, maybe some bass clipping. He said it wasnt as bad as he thought it might be.
This is good to know. I think the sticky thread also confirmed this. I'm starting to think the amp is the issue. To many owners are happy with the shaker sound to be a fluke, and yet no one would consider my muddy sound to be acceptable. Perhaps there's some flaky amps causing either the muddy issue or the bass issue since the amp massages so much of this sound.

yea who knows what that amp is doing. We measured the head unit after my system was installed but before tuning, so no info on what the factory junk amp was doing

Yeah I bet the head-unit itself doesn't do much. All the processing will be in the amp/dsp unit.
