For some reason I think I can out drive 95% of these people who insist on having 200 or 100 TW tires on the street.

I'll use my A/S 500 TW tires and pass you then stay ahead till the end of the session.

People think they are driving 9/10's on the street with 200 TW tires. Maybe on a mountain switchback where they can go 20 Mph instead of 5.

Let's be honest, probably not. A/S have gotten a lot better but they still have nothing on a proper summer compound. A good summer tire gives you confidence and predictability, which is more important than outright grip and performance. But you get a lot more of that too.

I have a 2017 Mustang convertible 5.0. I have 18 inch rims and I like them.

I live in California and the closest snow is two hours away and if I was going to the snow I would just take my truck.

I do drive rather spirited with my car when I drive it, which is quite often.

I do like the comfort of my current all season tires but they are cheap ones that came with my car and I am ready to replace them.

iā€™m going to buy new Michelinā€˜s from Costco and I canā€™t decide between the Michelin pilot all season four or the Michelin summer tires.

What would be the pluses and minuses for each type of tire please?

I'm in a similar situation.

I'm going with michelin a/s 3.

My deciding factor is that i want to be able to drive my mustang as much as possible. All seasons are not for snow. They are for cold temperatures. I live in northern PA. So March, early April, October, November. Will be too cold to run summer tires, but there is no snow here a lotofthe time in those months. Lots of sunny and 38 days. Or 65, but 35 in the morning on the way to work.

If i got summer tires i would be trading a driving my car 3-4 months of the year for better traction.

I don't know your area, but if it gets under 45 a lot i would get all seasons. If it's warmer year long then summer tires are best.

Still haven't told us what the fuck "pushing 7/10's" means. It's ok if you can't afford to run summer tires. It's not ok to invent reasons why other people shouldn't.
I really shouldn't have to answer this, but because it got brought up again..The 7 tenths reference is running the car to that limit. 10/10's is wrecking. 9.99/10's is pro level driver.

If you can run the car at a pro driver level on the street you are reckless. Unless you are driving a slow car, like a 1974 pinto. Which is a ton of fun at 9/10's

Thank you for clarifying, but yes, yes you did need to explain. I've never seen anyone refer to driving in terms of fractions. Even if it was commonplace, I obviously wasn't getting it. The purpose of language is to convey meaning. A purpose which you were failing to attain.

Now that I understand what you are saying, let me make my meaning clear. Do whatever you want with your car. You can hard park it, put 87 octane in, and even apply pink vinyl polka dots. I don't care, it is your car. Sure if you ask my opinion, I'll give it to you. But you can do whatever you want with your car. So when you're driving, go ahead and hit Camry level 2/10's all day if that's what gets your rocks off.

That's your car though, not mine. Most blokes on no-seasons would wreck driving 10/10's. But these tires go to 11. That's one stickier. So if I'm at 10/10 on the street, and I need that extra push over the cliff, you know what I do? I put it up to 11/10's. Eleven. I didn't ask your opinion. I don't need your advice. You can also rest assured that I will never drive to Kentucky, recklessly (3/10's+) or otherwise.

Probably faster than 1/9 bunnies and 6/8 parents agree, sweaters add 56% more down force for grip.

You donā€™t post often but when you do šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ‘ā¤
Thanks. I went through a small section of my life talking like that. Just quiet, observant, making one comment. Then going back to my beer. . quietly chuckling and checking off the 'hit 100%' for at least 2-3 days. Usually did not have to add anything new to the table for that night because people were confused.

Also, could not miss an opportunity to contribute in adding to verified number theories.

Relax, it will be OK.

SJ is that South Jersey?

Yes stay away from Ky.

I hear lots of people saying they need the stickiest tires made so they can drive to the grocery store. I never see anyone actually using the tires on the street. Maybe a blast to 120 on the freeway but never on the curvy roads. Probably because most people are sane and know 120 on a 35 Mph twisty is not safe.

Out in AZ or Wyoming where the roads are flat and straight for miles it might be OK to wind it out. I have my corners where I can safely pull .9 G's and I'm on A/S's Do I need to pull 1.1? Not at the cost of the tires.

I don't like buying tires every year. It was bad enough when I was racing, 5 sets a weekend was normal. I got the buying tires bug out of my system.

Wait a minute, did you say you're pulling .9 G's? Sounds pretty reckless to me.
I can pull 1.8G any time I like. I just don't like paying for new wheels, hub and half shafts every time I smack the curbs. I did it at 35mph so 4/10's effort?

Michelin PS4S are MUCH quieter than Michelin A/S3+. I've used both on the same car. But, laugh as you may, I put UHP A/S Nankang made in Taiwan. They are cheap and have been a real shock at how quiet and smooth they are. Handle fairly well, too.

There is a traffic circle that never has any traffic, so I can push the car there and not endanger anyone except myself.

(that's 11/10 if 10/10 is 120).
Your logic is flawed 10/10's is crashing, is that how you pull 2 g's?
