Had an alignment done today and have a question about front toe. The total looks ok but the L/R are out of spec. How critical is this?

Your steering wheel won't be straight like that. Get them to within 0.02 of each other at worst. The tech was sloppy with yours.

The steering wheel is actually really straight and the car feels much better than before the alignment but I will stop back and ask about the specs.
Thanks

I'd have them do a quick check for free. No way your steering wheel was straight when they aligned it if that's what they got.

The front toe is unacceptable. The toe needs to be identical, or very close to it...certainly NOT toe-in on one, and toe-out on the other. Aim for 0 to .1 toe-in on both.
Is the goal to still be around 0 total toe?. At .1 per side, total would be .2 which is at the extreme end of the range. Closer to 0 per side better?

Yes ^, caster and camber can be somewhat off, at least caster, but not toe!

Shoot for 0.00 per side, with up to 0.02 toe in per side allowed.

You guys sure the wheel wasn’t just a little cocked on the alignment rack when they printed that sheet? If it drives straight ...

Would that account for all three numbers being off? If the wheels were turned slightly, that would give you one wheel toed in/one out wouldn’t it?

That's what my thought was. If it drives straight and does so with the steering wheel straight, it was probably just off a little bit on the alignment rack. That's why I recommended having them recheck it for free.

Jeez fellas. The total toe is .01
It's simple math. Steering wheel should be straight according to the print out. The steering wheel turned before the print out. That's all.
