I’ve never really cared much nor paid attention to how good or bad an alignment could be. Now that I’ve invested money in an expensive toy, that has all changed. I was just lowered and have an alignment scheduled later today. Thanks

Can quality of work vary significantly, or is it mainly done by a computer so monkeys could do it with the right equipment?

Are there specifics that I should ask for?

What do I look at to make sure it was done properly. Any questions I should ask?

Should I just wait and get a referral? Or am I reading way too far into this.

If you don’t have any special alignment items like camber plates or aftermarket toe links, then any alignment place may be ok. However, if you want anything outside of spec for better handling or to correct anything due to your drop, you’ll want a good place. You may also be limited in what you can adjust with stock components.

The automated equipment is pretty good and they’ll give you a before/after readout. You may possibly not even need anything corrected.

I figured that was prob the case. I know I need one for sure and I did install camber caster plates with the springs so I’ll do a little homework and find a reputable spot.

Thanks for the advice

Automated equipment still relies on the alignment tech to get the targets set up properly, set tire pressures correctly, and actually make any necessary adjustments.

The S550's rear suspension seems to take a bit of trial and error, since toe adjustments affect camber more out back than they do up front.

How much you lowered the car can matter.

As for specs, do you want to optimize for long tire wear? Drag racing rear traction? Handing?

different alignment specs for different purposes.

100% see where your coming from Norm.

I lowered an inch all around with inch spacers as well, if that matters. And I would focus on rear traction more than the other two.

I got a couple places to call Monday, really glad I just didn’t go anywhere. Just saw in another thread what can happen if it’s not done right.

I just had the Steeda sport springs installed on my 2020 bullitt. No change to tow or caster on the front but the camber is 1.5. not sure on the rear.

Without adding camber caster plates you're pretty much stuck with the stock caster although camber can be adjusted with camber bolts. My tech told me that the right side came in at 1.5 which was the goal, but they had to use a camber bolt on the left side to get to 1.5 as the stock bolts kept it at 1.9.

I haven't driven the car yet looking forward to getting it back and putting some miles on it.

He said with the new springs that the steering was much sharper than it was prior to the drop and performance alignment.

When I get the car back with the sheet I'll post it if I can.
