So I fueled my car with e85 for the first time to datalog my Lund Flex Tune about two days ago and the nGauge was reading 71%.
I was told by Alex to get at least 75% to datalog my e85r tune.

Since my tank was half empty I assumed that filling with e85 again would put me above 75% and of now the nGauge is reading 69.8 % with the flag still in 0.

I thought that my percentage would go up for sure as I had 2 gals of 93 the first time I filled with e85. SMH I really want to try the dedicated e85 tune

It may just be that you’ve gotten a tank full of E85 with low ethanol content. Federal law allows a huge swing in terms of ethanol content where E85 is concerned. If you read on the pump it should say that ethanol content can be between 51% - 83%. If you haven’t gotten the red flag yet, you may need to continue driving the car a little longer until it locks itself in.

Sometimes it takes a little longer than others (not sure why). I’ve driven 25+ miles a couple of times before the flag changed to the red 1. It’ll change, just take it back out for another cruise.

Thanks. One more question, it’s ok to use the flex tune full time? This is my daily and I’m planning to used the e85r tune on track days/weekends and the Flex tune to run 93 for my daily commute.

Yes, that’s perfectly fine. My car lives on the flex tune the majority of the time.

While my car lives on the flex tune, I can tell a difference when I switch to 93. The car likes E85 in the tank much better than it does 93. I try to keep it on E85, but there have been times where it was unavailable and I had no choice but to switch to 93.

Did you test the e85 before filling your tank with it. It's possible that you're only getting 70ish% out of the pump.

I question how accurate the alcohol percentage reading is.

My car lives on the flex tune. During the summer running the corn juice, the gauge often reads over 85%; fair enough, it's possible. But once fall rolls around I go back to non-alcohol premium to be ready for storage (several tanks worth), and it never goes below 20%.
