So the other day I was driving a 2016 Benz E63 S (what an amazing car, no manual option, so I'd never get it, even if I could afford it). Anyways, it had alcantara on the steering wheel! It felt amazing. Do you guys know if they make wraps that you can stitch on that would fit our mustangs? I don't wanna spend ~$350 for the gt350 wheel swap.

Keep your eyes open for a used GT350 wheel, they run between $250-$270.

That'll get you what you want without breaking the bank :)

I think any fabric on the steering wheel after a while is gonna be disgusting.

$350 for a suede wheel is so damned cheap, I can't believe people have an issue with it. Go ahead and price a replacement for that MB suede wheel you got to touch. I bought a similar option for a Subaru...price $720.

And suede/alcantara requires maintenance/cleaning just like anything else.

I really like my gt350 steering wheel, will require some maintenance but is worth it. Great feel to it.

What do you mean?
He might have got it when it was like 200 bucks or so, they sold incredibly quick and then Ford raised the price a lot.

yes, I was able to grab one for 150 bucks before ford raised the prices to stop people for no reason (actually, most likely due to low supply for actual GT350s)

I have a 2013 Benz S500 with the AMG Appearance package, and I can say it is 100% the most perfect car made...problem is it is too perfect. All my speeding tickets are in that car, and you are truly disconnected from the road, in a good way. Something is wrong when you can do 135mph while getting a message and air conditioning on your seat! It truly is an amazing vehicle!

As for the wheel, I found a Ford Dealer that was a lot less than $350 for a new wheel...I will look where I bought it, I found the link on this forum I believe it was $225???? New that is.

I had an Alcantra wheel in both of my last 2 cars. I just used mild soapy water and a fine brush every 5k miles. It looked great. It feels great and is synthetic so its easy to keep clean. If you don't clean it, it mats and looks like a**.

It feels amazing until it has been used for a while - then it feels like a velour washcloth that has not been washed in a year! Sorry, I must go wash my hands now!

Agree never really peaked my interest as your hands are usually the most dirty/oily part and touching the wheel over time with a fabric with fibers just makes little sense. Trim and seats is a little different you have material between your skin and it.

Great if you're leasing or selling the car in a year or 2 but wont hold up over time versus leather; which is why OEM material is leather.

Just gotta maintain it. And if it gets so bad, even with maintenance, then that's why I kept my stock wheel. Easy enough swap if it comes down to it.
