I installed the some faux alcantara pieces from redline a year ago and its faded noticeably from the black it was originally.

Does anyone know of a dye to use on this that would get it back to black? Something brush on would be best as the pieces are glued in.

In retrospect I should have just paid the extra for the real alcantara option.

Not trying to be snarky, but what is faux Alcantara? Isn't Alcantara already a synthetic suede material?

Alcantara is a name brand trademark, so faux would be off brand stuff.

Got it :like:

Looks like Rit makes a synthetic dye

Edit: Personally I'd probably hesitate to apply a dye inside my car. I can only imagine how many ways that can go wrong 🤔 😜

I found that just searching for synthetic fabric dye, any idea how it holds up to UV fading?

None whatsoever  (sorry I'm no help)

But on the bright side you'll know where to get more if you have to reapply.

With how clumsy I can be I really need to minimize my exposure to things that stain permanently. I still have ptsd of the first time I had to use shoe black.... then the first time I used dykem.... them the.... well you see the pattern.

I have been known to make a mess or two 😜

I think "unwanted transfer" of the dye after application would be my biggest concern. I would suggest testing how well the dye sets before diving in. You may very well turn your interior into a giant ink pad

I used this company's products in the past for my 1995 BMW M3:
http://www.leatherique.com/

You can reach out to them too to see if they offer anything for Alcantara material.
