Hi everyone, Ive recently just got an airbag light thats been staying on. It used to be that I would start the car and it would go away but some days it would turn on. Now, the light is always on, I'll start the car and the airbag light will turn on then off for a couple seconds then re appear and stay on for the duration of the drive. I was able to pull a code with a reader (B1404:13, Driver Side Airbag Deployment Control). To my understanding, this is an open circuit code for some airbag related connector in the driver side seat? Ive tried to disconnect and reconnect the harness at the bottom of the seat but no luck. At this point I don't really know what to do and I thought id make a post about it before seeking the dealership. Thanks.

Are you sure that the code is for the seat airbag? It may be for the driver airbag in the steering wheel. If that's the case, a broken clockspring, located behind the steering wheel, is the most likely cause. If you know someone who has a good scan tool, they should be able to confirm that.

Here ya go, see if these threads help. You may be able to resolve the issue yourself before having to take it to a dealer.

Did you ever see what the problem was?
im having this issue as well and I’ve read other stuff that it could be the dome or the clock spring
