Track use only - do not provide enough particulate protection for daily use.

No thanks. But glad to see something is almost out for us!

Where there is one, there are more to come. Also, you can probably find another cone filter to bolt right up that is suitable for daily use.

Exactly. I Believe Airaid sells replacement filters which you could buy to replace the track filter. At that point it might not even require a tune depending on how much the new filter restricts flow.

Looks like Airaid finally has something for the V6. Still only pre order on AM's site..

Hey Zack - Hope all is well! (The muffler delete sounds pretty good!) It's looking like we should be about 2-3 weeks out on having these in stock and ready to ship but I'm confident that they're going to have a standard setup following on its heels!

But glad to see something is almost out for us!
John - There's definitely going to be a slew of other options coming out! I know the lull is dragging on but the 2015's have only been out for only 3+ months!

Thanks for the comments Alex! I am also curious as to AM's progress on the V6... Have you guys been able to locate one? I noticed the race red V6 at Hunt's Ford disappeared about a week after you guys found out about it. Coincidence??

Looks like they got a Magnetic with the Auto and 051A, from his signature.

Just before New Years Alex stated that they have been unable to find a V6 and they have had that Magnetic listed in their signature since October timeframe.... I am assuming that is one they ordered and never came in? Something along those lines...

Something just occurred to me..... Why the hell does this thing "require" a tune? Our 6 is using MAP now instead of MAF so a tune should not be required for any intake.

Apart from a Turbo/Supercharger upgrade our cars won't need a tune for any mod. MAP is much more versatile and will adjust fuel if extra air flow is detected, in and/or out.

Exactly... So I don't understand why that airaid listing says a computer retune is "required". Suggested yes but should not be required.

Hey Zack - That's a really great question and while some can get away with not running a tune on a MAP car it's really important to have someone like Bama Performance get into the the VE tables to make the appropriate adjustments. By doing so this is going to will allow the Tuner to extract the maximum amount of horsepower while still maintaining drivability.

I think the reason that Airaid and likely some of the other larger Cold Air Intake manufactures are going to be going with Race Versions like this will be due to the fact that they want you to get turned in order to make the most power.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope this helps.

Alex

Thanks for the reply Alex! So basically as I thought a tune is strongly suggested in order to see maximum power gains but is not required for the car to operate correctly. Usually when I see "required" it means that the car will not run with the part installed....

Any word on BAMA's progress with the V6?
