Hi All,

I've just fitted some OMP racing seats in my car and need to get the air bag light off. Just wondering if any one has made any plug and play solution. I dont really want ti cut my wiring off the seats to solder a resistor in. I want to keep them intacked.

Thanks

Dave

Dave,

If the solution’s out there it’s a closely held secret. I’m part way through a race seat conversion. And what that means is I have race seats/harnesses in the car but have not yet pulled the trigger on harvesting the wiring harnesses & occupancy sensor from the Factory seats. [So, yeah, I have an air bag light right now.]

Anybody wanna help us out with a slick turnkey solution? We’re interested.

Hi EGP,

I dont have harnesses yet, im still using the original seat belts. I have taken the wiring harness out and fitted them under my seats so i could make sure the seat belt warning light went out. As for the pressure/occupancy sensors, there is no way to fit them in my seats so not sure how the passanger air bag will know someone is sat in the seat 🤔
Surley someone out there knows away and can point us in the right direction.

Hey Dave,

This thread should help you out. Go to this post, then to the links within it for a ton of seat swap info (as well as going from non-power to power and resolution of airbag lights):

Hi Mate,

I've had a good look through this thank you, you had sent it to me previously. I was i looking for with this post was if anyone has made up a loom to just plug and play in so it sorts everything out. I didn't really want to start cutting and pulling to much out of the original seats so i could keep them in case i ever wanted to swap back.

Regards

Dave

I get a lot of questions about this so I made a detailed video about it. Among other things lol

If you want to keep your stock seats you will need a donor seat to rip out the wiring loom. To my knowledge the only business that makes a plug and play harness/adapter is Multimatic but I believe they reserve it for their own personal use. They also don't return call or emails so good luck.

Hi Pal,

I've watched your video it was really good. Donor seats not easy to come by in the UK unfortunately, hence looking to buy a plug and play solution.

I'm not giving up just yet lol

Hi Pal,

in your experience would this work as i do not want to remove the pressure bag form my seat.
I was thinking i could remove the pipe that joins the bag to the electrical side of it. Cap off both ends. Plug the electrical side into the wiring look under the seat so it completes the electrical side of the circuit?

Thanks

I see what you are saying but to be honest I don't know if that will work.

Due to your location and situation I would just remove the seat and keep it intact and install your racing seat when you need it. It will be the easiest/cheapest way to go for you.

Another option would be to find another ford car (Like a focus or something) with all the seat options you have in your mustang and rip out all those components.

Just a thought.
