LMFAO
Yes,.....ADV1 wheels are VERY pricey!

They have some of the nicest designs (which another company then builds for them) but I wouldn't give the owner a penny due to his previous wheel company ripping off several customers. He's an asshole and a crook. http://www.secretentourage.com/entrepreneur/business/the-reality-of-adv1/.....just a little fyi. Pretty much anyone with a CAD program and some "extreme" designs can just send the specs to MHT to have their "bespoken wheels" made. There are only a few good wheel companies left that have properly tested designs.

Adv 1 really do not have the engineering that other high end wheels have especially for the price.

For the uninformed, it's kind of pathetic that these "boutique" wheels pop up all over the place....take some edgy pics with models....give the wheels to some Ferrari owner.....then charge upwards of $2000 a wheel (wheel was manufactured right next to ones costing half the price for the same material). The profit margin is high and people think they bought some high-end bad ass wheel. Perfect example is the wheel pictured below which failed while just driving down the freeway. True story. The good thing was Forgiato took care of the guy.....still a shitty design that was expensive.

What do you guys suggest are good wheel companies that have a fair balance of cost, design, and quality? I have no idea myself, and I tend to just equate cost with quality unless I'm educated otherwise.

First thing....cost is all relative. Personally, I have owned Forgeline, HRE, CCW, Volk, Advan, BBS, Apex, OZ Racing and Enkei. If I was to choose an affordable track wheel, it would probably be Enkei or Apex (there are other decent ones as well). If budget is not too much of a concern, I'd track a car (road course and in order of preference) with Forgeline, CCW, Finspeed or a forged Volk wheel (ZE40, TE37, etc). Unfortunately, there is a considerable cost increase when one chooses to go with a well made forged wheel. It truly depends on what you intend to do with the car. If I was going to do drag races....I'd probably choose a Weld or CCW wheel. For occasional all around light track duty, most people will be just fine on their stock wheels. There are now many flow-formed wheels out that offer better strength and weight than the behemoths that Ford put on the cars. It's when one really pushes their car, that's when I want piece of mind that I won't have issues barreling down the backstretch at 175mph at VIR. My .02

There are a number of good options at good pricing as well, all depends on what your after looks, weight, etc.

Hopefully he continues to improve his business reputation.....some of us older guys have been around 50+ years and remember those that treat others unfairly. He should take some notes from you

Perfect example nit to mention forgiato is a ghetto fabulous wheel. Very few companies that make wheels actually make them. Forgeline, bbs, etc. have a racing heritage. CCW has been ok as well as iforged and hre.

I think the best wheel hands down for the mustang without going bankrupt is the hre flow form. A concave style would sell huge. Strasse recently quoted me 7500 for their junk.

Aren't the HRE's around the same price? What you think of the Forgestars?

The HRE Flow Form wheels are much cheaper than that.

Thank you for the praise!

Most of the HRE wheels are expensive. Not all, but most.

Yes, I think the Flow Form wheels are the most inexpensive wheel that HRE makes.
Yes, the Forged wheels are on the higher end side, but we do have a wide range of costs in the Forged line up as well. FlowForm for sure is the least expensive of the wheels we do make though, and seem to be huge for the Mustang market :)

I wasn't bad mouthing HRE wheels, just stating what you stated here.
HRE wheels are one of the brands I would put on my car. Definitely great wheels. You get what you pay for.
