You need to call FORD!! Same when i had my paint issues with my WRX i had to call Subaru of America.. But all these issues popping up is unacceptable!!! I pray once i start driving my Mustang more when the weather breaks i dont have any issues.. Im starting to fear i will tho!! One little glimmer of hope that i tell myself is that these Mustangs that are having issues were the earlier builds off the line..

Yah that is my fear right now of ordering..seems G1 of this S550 is having a lot of issues...I'm seriously considering waiting for the 16's and just waiting it out.

i've had no issues except this one. its not that big of a deal. its just that the dealership customer service sucks and should fix this.
also, I knew the dealership sucked because when I was buying the car, the salesman was high fiving all his buddies in front of my wife and I and rejoicing at the fact he sold a gt....do that in private.

Had squealing brakes on mine also; went to dealership on 03/18 and they ordered
new brake pads and rotors -- went back to dealership on 03/20 and 2 1/2 hrs later
drove off the lot squealing brake-free.

I have an appointment Monday morning for the brake squeal issue. I am interested to see how the fix holds up. Mine didn't start squealing until I had it for several hundred miles. I am at 8400 now and it pretty much squeals all the time now.

So, did the GM really tell you to F-off.... Because you surely have skipped around that part when everyone has asked you about it in this thread...

My build date was Oct 1 and I have gone over the inside and out of my car multiple times and the only issue I have found is a slight imperfection on the cover over the center brake light and a single thread that is poking out of the back of the driver seat. I won't say my car is perfect but far better than what some people are posting. You also need to remember the only people who usually say anything are the ones having an issue which greatly skews the numbers. (happy customers dont make noise) There are a lot of different issues with these cars but they are not as common as some people will have you think. (get ready for the arguments)

I love how some of you really believe this but when I go to a dealership and see every Mustang on their lot with very bad panel issues, 7 Mustangs total, and a second dealership and all of theirs also have issues I think it's more widespread than you think. People have posted pictures of Mustangs at car shows that also have panel issues. The LE, only 1964 built and they too have issues, 4,000 cars built on 2/2 in Flat Rock held for QC issues tells me it's widespread.

The average person won't notice unless it's a mechanical issue and those issues go unreported. Please stop trying to downplay the many issues people are having because it doesn't help and it's annoying to those of us with major issues.

I am happy for you that you're not having issues and hopefully you don't but it's really annoying when you come posting in issue threads that yours is perfect. It's not helpful.

I was simply trying to tell a person who was on the fence that there are also many cars out there that do not have issues. I did not try to say yours doesn't have issues.

Why would you try to assure someone when there are so many issues? I'm kicking myself for not waiting for the '16's. I should've waited but believed that if there were issues it's under warranty and it would be taken care of. Now I have a car under warranty and Ford has refused to honor the warranty and I have worked with a regional CSR which didn't help at all. Now I am having to go through the Lemon Law process.

Don't get me wrong I truly love my car but my panels look like they were beat to shit before they were installed on my car, both doors and fenders look like someone tried to pop out dents and every panel, fender, doors, all three rear windows, bumpers, hood and trunk are all crooked. Totally unacceptable on a car that has an MSRP of $38k.

if you can tell him how much yours sucks I can tell him how much mine doesn't. 2 sides to every story whether you like it or not.

I understand that and I am not disputing that, I am happy for the many without issues. My point is that based on what I read here, have seen on dealer lots, and my own experience there are many issues and it's more widespread than you think. I have only seen a handful without panel issues, even some who say theirs are perfect I see their pics and see doors, hoods, fenders, and trunks that are far from perfect. I don't comment on them because I don't want to be a kill joy.

Maybe there is an expectations problem here. Speaking for myself, I never expected my car to be perfect. I didn't go over it with a "fine toothed comb", measure the panel gaps with a digital caliper, or threaten to "refuse delivery" if the dealer did any one of the number of things that many of the people on this forum deem unacceptable.

I bought my car to drive, and in 4 months I have spent about 220 hours doing just that - covering a little more than 8400 miles so far. In that time I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Have I had some problems? Yep.

In the first week I had to have the passenger side windshield wiper arm replaced because the pivot pin was falling out. The dealer had the part shipped in next day air, and they fixed it in less than 10 minutes the following day.

I have really bad brake squeal. I waited until the TSB was posted before taking my car in because I don't really like wasting my time. I have an appointment tomorrow morning, and I fully expect that to be addressed as well.

My rear windshield is not mounted flush - like just about everyone else's. I would not have noticed this if I hadn't read about it on this forum, and it doesn't bother me, so I won't bring it up with the dealer.

All that said, there are a couple of features that I wish the car had, based on my experiences driving lots and lots of rental cars - but I knew that the Mustang didn't have them when I ordered mine, so I can't really criticize the car based on those.

Wish list:
  • Heated Steering Wheel
  • Heads-Up Display (with digital speedo)
  • Proximity Locking

The point is that my experience is just as valid as yours. I am happy with my car. You are unhappy with your car. I get that.
