$995....... Be sure to buy the car with it already. $700 isnt it?

Imo no navigation system is worth $700, let alone $1k.

And ford navigation blows compared to everything on the market.

$700 and no predictive, it can't locate off a address only. I.e. 1223 fox st. Mft can not give a city list like every single other gps can.

Actually it is 795.00. I agree that it's over priced, however some people just prefer to have it built into factory screen. The add on ones are priced @ 1199.00. I told the company that offers the replacement Apim that price was too high and they agreed to try them @ the lower price of 995.00. This option is for the people that do want to have it.

995 is still too high. Its price gouging in my opinion. At $500 you would get a lot more acceptance. TheN it would be quantity making up for the price instead of onsies and twosies with extra cash.

Exhanging the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM). This is a physical swap without any programming? Or does this need to be added to the vehicles baseline programing?

In other words, Is it DIY?

It is a physical swap without programming. The Apim is already loaded with all software. These Apim's are offered by a aftermarket company and is not affiliated to Ford. I will forward your opinion. I agree with what you are saying, however I'm just the messenger.

So this is an Aftermarket Navigation?

technically yes, only cause Ford hasn't made it avail after purchase, to my knowledge. It will work exactly the same as factory, including voice.

Whatever the price is, it'll definitely be higher than the $795 ordered direct from the factory.

Iphone and Google Maps, problem solved :-)
That only works if have a data connection to keep down loading the map data. I found out the hard way on a drive through the mountains as I watched a grey screen roll across the disolay.

if you can plan ahead you can cache the maps beforehand so you don't run into this problem. that said, definitely had this happen to me on my last trip to Montreal for the F1 race. As soon as we hit Canada it went to roaming and I'll be damned if I'm paying those rates. Rather be lost.
