Active grill shutters

Are the grill shutters controllable via tuning? I’m assuming they are programmed to vehicle speed, engine temp, etc. so curious if anyone has attempted to play with them in tuning. Would beat attempting to physically remove.

Do GTs have active grille shutters? I don't see any on my Bullitt, which is the same year as your car (2019). My 3.5EB Platinum F-150 had them though, so I think it's just EB Mustangs IMO. Please post a photo, to see what you're seeing . Thank you.

Oh, okay; thanks. I think the effect should be minimal. Ford rates PP1/Bullitts 1 MPG lower than regular GTs, I think, but the main reason is because of the 3.73 rear end (vs 3.55). But since they're ECU controlled, I'd probably leave them alone, at least if not malfunctioning.

Main reason is because the Bullitt gets a little more power over the standard GT. 480 versus 460.

You can uninstall the active grille pretty easily if you pop the bumper cover off. Just unplug them and unbolt.

FWIW, I disabled the AGS (eg. locked them into fully open position 100% of the time) in less than 3 minutes and all I had to do was pop my hood.

Open the hood, remove 2 bolts to slide over the hood latch and then reach down the hole to unplug the actuator. 2 bolts back in and that's it.

Yep, the average saving for active shutter vehicles is around 1 mpg. They also keep your engine temps higher for they are closed during highway speeds. On my ram I removed them and rigged the sensor so it didn't give a code. You could just run the shutter full open, disconnect the shutter linkage and mod the motor to think it is working, without being connected to the shutters. You tube I am sure has videos of this. Good luck.

I removed mine during my whipple install and no codes here.

It won't throw a DTC or CEL, but it will store a code "no communication to AGS"

Interesting, so if it fails shut it would not throw a code either?
