I know that active exhaust change the tone, but has anyone tested it on a dyno to see if it changes at all? Just figure it would be interesting to see.

Maybe a little bit about 10hp difference.
A restrictive exhaust would mean more resistance on the engine.

I would wager 0 to 3hp.

On the new Stingrays Chevy lists it as 5 more hp with it open. Going from 455 to 460, so probably 2-3 whp which will be hard to notice on the dyno in back to back runs.

All it really does on the Corvette at least is open up another tail pipe.

Probably nothing. Gas velocity at that point downstream I bet isn't flowing fast enough to make that big of a difference closed or open in stock form.

Comparing the results of the GT350 aftermarket systems to the new stock '18 system is total apples to oranges to kumquat and squashed banana. Air requirements in and out are different and will have different restrictions based on heads, manifolds, cats, and resonators.

It is quite a different comparison, there are too many variables to compare the 15-17' and 18'

I see lots of people discredit the significance of cat back exhaust systems for performance gains when there clearly is a gain of 7 wheel hp for the 15-17.

I wouldn't say there is a clear gain of that. I gained zero with my Borla/SLP catback. One pull netted a gain of 2hp. three other pulls showed a slight loss. Anything less than 10hp can be attributed to a butterfly sneezing in front of the dyno roller. Anyone who says otherwise has an agenda, or just wants to feel good about themselves. I did my exhaust for sound and weight.

You do realize that the GT350 Borla Catback costs TWO THOUSAND dollars, right? It's the worst power per dollar ratio in any point of the powertrain. The biggest benefit to that catback is actually weight reduction. Do you really think you're going to feel 7 HP? That is within the variance of error on the same dyno on the same day, or 1.5% power.
