Several states have enacted a law banning the sale of new ICE vehicles by 2035. Similar to how we all drive California emissions compliant vehicles, even if some states do not push an EV only law, innovation and sale of new designs of ICE vehicles will die everywhere.

If ford has to design an Electric sports coupe to replace the S650 by 2035 for a chunk of states (its like 9 states and growing or something but I'd need to double check) they are not going to also design a gasoline version for other states. They'll sell their old designs until they are forced not to.

There's no federal mandate, but there really wont have to be.
Relax. It's not going to happen, so just relax. Passing such laws are just political grandstanding to the greenie weenies, pandering to stupid people for votes, nothing more.

It won't happen, because it can't happen. Hysterically, the last place in the country that could go all EV is California. They import the majority of the electrical power form other states.

And they're already telling the schmucks not to charge their EVs on hot days.

The states and ford for that matter want to bump is up sooner, 2030-32
You’ll be lucky if there’s a facelift even.
Run the old 87-93 playbook.

this really is it, just no major announcements
Go out quietly and quickly before people get pissy.

What states are requiring electric cars by 2035?

All of the planned bans are in coastal states: In addition to California and Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Washington have made the commitment to stop allowing sales of new gas-powered vehicles after 2035

To your point (I think) there s only a deadline in a few states and hopefully that can change back too before then with some common sense leadership.
Well the EU has already backed off a little and they were leading the charge for conversion. 2035 is still a long way off so it’s really just wait and see for now.

Unless that date is changed, it’s happening. Literally until there is an official decision to change the date it’s 100% happening.

It's not happening.

It can't happen. It's not even remotely possible to switch to all EVs.

Just relax. It too shall pass.

In your mind, certainly. That's clearly how it works......in your mind.

In the real world, no, car companies do NOT add mass to reduce NVH transfer. They're fighting bloat and MPG/emissions issues as it is, and weight has everything to do with thatfight.

That's also some nice strawman arguing. But it's duly noted.

What's hysterical, is that in going back to quote where you did exactly that, you also demonstrate that you don't understand what a trans-axel is;

This clearly demonstrates you don't have a fucking clue what a trans-axel is.
Oh i guess we're just imagining all thse big hunks of rubber on exhaust systems, diffs, and engines then.

which clearly demonstrates you have no idea what a transaxle in a FR layout looks like.
Once again I'm going to post a picture proving you wrong. see that transmission looking thing attacked to that diff looking thing? that's what i'm describing.

you might wanna go argue with someone who doesn't build shit for a living and fun.

to other people with actual good input:

for the record i'm not saying this is a silver bullet for all wheel hop and nvh in all scenarios.
its just a thing that makes sense that would help a lot with all of that.

another thing might be asymetrical half shalfs, some corvette engineers mentioned how that helped a lot with wheel hop because they wouldn't load up at the same rate so the tires couldn't synchronize on launch so wheel hop was reduced.

Can I please see your crystal ball. I need to check the stock market for the next couple of years. :giggle: :like:
Sure. The more we engage in a planned economy; the worse the economic outcome will be. If you think this is some sort of revelation, then that's on you.

There's one on the front subframe, too.

You're strawman arguing. Retroactively trying to change what you were saying. It's plain for all to see.

Stop it.

And you thought a trans-axel had a diff bolted to it. Your wrote that. You posted that. I quoted that.

You don't know WTF you're talking about.

What I actually think is calling anything that will not happen for 12 years a fantasy is illogical.

A trans-axel is both a transmission and a differential. You don't bolt a fucking diff TO a trans-axel.
