A question about tires

I'm a couple weeks away from buying my first GT350 and after all the research I have done the tires would probably be the first thing I replaced. Sport Cup Tires were on my recently sold Z06 and I hated the way they rode and the fact that they were Summer only tires. I replaced those with a set of Michelin AS3's, and were very happy with the ride and handling. When I search Tire Rack the only tire option I get is the Michelin SC Tires.

1. Are there any available All Seasons for this car yet and if so how do I get the tire site to give me the options?
2. Are you able to run the same size tires as the GT350-R with the factory rims on the GT350?

They don't make the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ in the same stock size as the 2019 GT350, which is why you probably can't find them on tirerack. They make 285/35/R19 (stock fronts are 295/35/R19) and then jump to 325/30/R19 from there. If you want those big 325 fatties, they should work on the 19x11 rim, as 11" wide is the minimum recommended width, although the overall dia is smaller than the 305/35/R19 because they are lower profile, so your speed will be off, as well as your odometer.

Another option is the warm weather only Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires which come in 295/35/R19, but not 305/35/R19. You could probably just use 295s all around and not notice a performance loss. 295s will still look pretty wide from the back and you can rotate them which is an advantage for tread life (and warranty). The overall tire dia. is 0.3" smaller than the 305/35/R19 Cup2s, so your speedo will read slightly high.

As a forewarning, the Pilot sport 4S tires are horrible in the cold weather, and high maintenance. If the tire temp. drops to 20F, you have to slowly warm them to 40F before driving them. I had them on my PP1 GT (factory sizes), and under about 45F, the traction is severely lacking, esp. when the tires are cold. I put on the AS 3+ and noticed a big improvement in cold pavement traction. They probably don't have the ultimate warm pavement traction, but they are my winter/cold weather tires so I'm not terribly concerned.

There are options, but not in stock size. If you search google for “GT350 all season tires” you will find lots of people running anything from Michelin, Conti, etc all seasons. Personally I like the summer tires in summer and I run some Conti winter tires in winter (295’s all around)

I was hoping to find an all season even though it does get cold in NC, it can be 30deg one day and the next it may be 65. Those are the days I would like to take the car out of the garage and ride. I will have to look at them Continentals since i've seen them recommended allot.

Are many people running run flats on these cars? That's another thing I haven't seen offered either.

So my main worry is the "tramlining" on the streets (steering being influenced by grooves, ruts and imperfections in the road surface), I don't plan to drive it in the actual winter. Mine is a 2019 with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 and it went right from the car carrier to storage.

I have not even driven the car in my area yet to see how bad this is, since it's stored for the winter but I have read so much about the issue, I am wondering if I shoulda tried the other Mustang models as well, because the greater Detroit area has the WORST roads

That said, has anyone tired the same car (hopefully a GT350), swapped the tires (and / or tires with rims) and found the issue was greatly improved? This means the same routes, with the same car? How about this suspension bar upgrade?

...also, I hear about the sport cup 2 tires cracking in the cold weather. If the car is parked, are you OK? Or does it need to removed or kept in a heated location to be above freezing, even when stored?

I don't know for sure about the Cup 2s, but with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, the instructions say that if the tire is cooled to 20F or below (i.e. sitting outside on a very cold night), that the tires need to be heated up slowly over a 24 hour period to 40 F before driving, otherwise risk damage to the tire. I would imagine the Cup 2s are similar. I briefly looked but didn't find anything specific to the Cup 2s.

My car was out all last winter, no damage to tires was evident. Stock M. Super Sports. I run M. CUP 2'S in the summer, 305/325's, for track driving.

Keep your tire pressures to high side and the steering on soft setting to minimize the effects of tramlining. Having toe on front set to zero might help a little - seemed to help mine a little but to a small degree. I mainly re-set it to minimize scrubbing the inside shoulder edge off.
