a MUST READ for 2015+ Mustangs

I'm in Australia, so this MAY only be applicable to right hand drive cars (rhd) - let us know.

When I collected my new MY2017 Mustang, I noticed on the lower, right hand side, leading edge of the drivers seat upright (rhd), just below where the seat belt MIGHT cross the seat, a fairly large scuff mark on the piping as well as the adjacent, seat side panel. I thought it had been damaged in transit. I've since looked at 4 other NEW cars, they all have a similar scuff mark to varying degrees. I think it must be due to a robot or other machine marking it when the car was assembled. I pointed it out on the mark on other NEW cars to my dealer, they had never noticed it before.

Before this discovery, I had considered having it air-brushed - don't, show it to your dealer. let them fix it under warranty, it won't get better, just worse over time

The dealer said they would take a photograph of the mark in case it is required for warranty claims.

Check your car!!! If it has the mark, speak to your dealer.

Lets hear how many have the mark.

UPDATE: I've just checked the passenger seats on the same cars, they have the marks too, same place but on the left.

On the bolster? Mine came with a few scuffs on the leather bolsters, the outside scuff I think is from someone getting out of the car and maybe catching their belt or something on it. I've though about getting some black leather shoe polish and a Q-tip to fix it.

That's exactly what it LOOKS like, but it's on there from new, also, it's not black but a very dark grey.

There is a common issue with the seat belt slicing through the front edge of the bolster and/or the leather seat belt strap on the side of the seat. Could this be what you're seeing?

I've seen a few threads about this somewhere, but I can't seem to find them now.
