Ya I just noticed a thread I started, not Patrick, nor Patrick's clone, was deleted. Why, [MENTION=1]Jarstang[/MENTION], was the thread I made about trying to get more information about 8" units deleted? Please tell me as I'd not like to do things that violate rules; I did not think I violated any rules. Anyways, there may be some news on the horizon about an 8" unit.

Yea I noticed that thread disappeared which is annoying since there was a lot of info in there. Would like to hear some good news about a 8” unit that retains all factory function/controls being available soon because I’m tired of the shitty base radio lol

I did get some news on these. I have heard that there is a company in China that is making these and they are in their final revisions in which they are adding RCA outputs, fixing the camera, and adding USB. It will have what we want...strong processing power, decent storage, and a somewhat more modern Android version. There should be some more news in a couple weeks.

hmmm, 350 is close to the tesla unit, things got a bit more complicated. But i will have to wait to see what this ends up looking like.

But with the Tesla you lose the buttons/knobs which is a deal breaker for some people. One part I like about the Tesla though is getting the drive modes.

Being that I had a stereo where the knobs were gone...AC control sucked as the entire unit had to boot up before I could change anything AC wise...I am not going through that again. Volume and tune, eh, I can live without if necessary but I'd like to keep all knobs...just me.

The Tesla Unit is pretty sub-par in comparison, with fake OS Updates and some even have fake hardware specs. Not to mention waiting near 60 seconds to use HVAC controls sucks... but if all you care about is the giant screen with little-to-no support, go for it.

...and yes, a quote is nothing official, because as I understand it, the guy is funding the entire purchase on his own to get 50 units here from China once the prototype revisions are approved, and will be providing end-used hardware and software support to everyone that gets one from him. He's had a lot of people ask for updates, but I was told last night that only myself and [MENTION=29061]5.0_SD[/MENTION] have offered him any kind of help if he needs it.

I know he's dealing with recovery on surgery on one arm, and is about to have the other one done, so he's got a pretty full plate. I'll mention it when I talk to him there were people who didn't get responses.
