As someone who’s stuck with you through all this, my best current comment is…hhhmmmmmmm…

Right out of the gate, I don’t like the crossmember idea.
He sent a cad drawing of the crossmember and it interference..... if the new part he makes is executed correctly it will be fine but if not....I'm going to stay positive for now. Tomorrow I'll post the cad drawings of the cross member he sent me and the mounts that bolt to the engine, I believe HoneyBadger wanted to see them so I'll post what was sent over. So I am waiting on the cross member, f150 o2 sensors, bolts for the mounts and extension harnesses for the exhaust valves.

Quick update :
-They will not be providing the harness for Exhaust Valve this round due to them struggling to find a manufacture who is willing to tackle this project at this time...I ordered 2 this am from the suggested vendor .

-The "high clearance cross member" is about 7-10 days out-claims there are no issues reported at the moment- I bit the bullet and sourced the low profile bolts , maybe these will provide the clearance needed and if not then his new cross member will need to be installed .

-Turns out no O2 harness extensions are required-Secondary O2 on the passenger side does require a 45 or 90 deg adapter. , that's a plus as I already have a pair of Big Daddies o2 Cel Fix 90 degree gizmos

-The bolts for the engine brackets and exhaust valves are on the way .

Long story short , next week we might be going live with the install !!!

Just got finished weighing the entire system including gaskets, bolts, clamps, springs, etc....
105lb - that's from the exhaust flanges back to the mufflers , the brackets are 6lb/side btw, pics of brackets coming later on tonight

You’re really about to make me unpack seven boxes of metal—two of which look like a stainless-steel intestine puzzle—lay everything out like I’m prepping for an autopsy… and then somehow repack it all back into those perfectly foam-imprinted slots like I work for NASA, huh? 😅

You already know none of it is going back in those boxes the same way. That foam was molded by a wizard with a ruler and a grudge.

I’ll get everything laid out on the patio tomorrow though—full spread, engine brackets included. If I don’t post after that, assume I’m still trying to figure out how piece #17 magically only fits in the box when it’s at a 37° angle.

Install and sound clip. Sounds... different.

Yeah, that’s…different. And for the life of me, I’ll never understand why when people make exhaust videos, it’s always full send. I want cold starts and normal driving. At least they did get a descent start up. That sounded pretty bitchin. Was it trying to settle into a ghost cam there for a sec?

I hate to say it, but… this sounds really off to me.

It’s not even in the same ballpark as the original clip we were shown. I’m wondering if the latest revisions to the system completely changed the tone, because what I’m hearing now is not what sold me on it in the first place.

Honestly, after waiting over 6 months (closer to a year at this point), I’m pretty frustrated. This isn’t a minor difference—it’s a totally different personality. The first version had that raw, exotic edge… this one just doesn’t hit the same.

At this point, I’m not even excited to install it, which is wild considering how long I’ve been waiting. Going to sleep on it and see where my head’s at tomorrow. Not sure what options I have yet, or if a refund is even on the table.

Silver lining, I guess—I’ve still got a set of NIB Ultimate long tubes sitting in the garage. Might pivot directions and just piece together something .

Right now though… yeah, uber disappointed.

I know the design was revised a while back and was supposed to push the pitch higher, but it seems like those changes completely altered the tone—and not in a good way. This sounds muted and kind of lifeless compared to what we were originally presented with.

Also makes me wonder—were the valves even open in that video? I was told it would be noticeably louder than OEM with the valves closed, and way louder when opened. Based on that clip, it just sounds muffled and lackluster at best.

Sounds terrible to me—nothing like the original setup we were introduced to. The clip of it on the lift is what got me excited… this isn’t that.

correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t they say the part for the valves is missing…that would probably do it!

What a bonkers design though. Quite the engineering feat, even with all the workarounds. No way he made any profit off these, lol. I did like the cold start/idle. That was pretty nasty.

You might be right—I’m going to go back and actually listen to the whole video instead of rage-skipping to the “good parts” 😅

I was emailing Concept and, to my relief, he agrees it sounds off too. He thinks the valves were likely locked closed in that video since they didn’t wait for the extended harness. Fingers crossed that’s the case.

He did send over a few shorter clips of another car with the system, and those sounded way more like what I was expecting—so I’m leaning toward the “valves were closed” theory.

If that’s true, I just went from full panic mode to cautiously optimistic… which is a much nicer place to be after 6+ months of waiting 😂

Yeah bro, he definitely put a ton of R&D into this setup—no question there. The welds and bends are as legit as it gets, and the material thickness is chunky… No corners cut. On a side note it could have been made thinner and saved at least 10-15lbs but the tone would have been altered ...I am still trusting this guy's judgment.
I’m feeling better about it now—I’m pretty confident that video we all saw was with the valves closed, which would explain a lot. If that’s the case, we might still be in business.
