750 off private offer

Found a way to get an extra 750 off my Mustang GT I am taking delivery of tomorrow. I used Ford.com to build the mustang I wanted and searched local inventories. It gives you the option to contact the dealer via email. After doing this Ford emailed me a private offer that is good until 5/31. They give you a code to use and you still get the 750 off plus this 750.

Not sure if this deal is only for the Memorial day weekend or not. Just wanted to let people know just in case they were looking to buy a car this weekend.

This makes little sense to me. It seems you care enough about money to be participating in a thread over a $750 discount on your car, but then you say that you are considering selling your old car to Carmax - which is the literal equivalent of throwing thousands of dollars away. If you want to maximize the value of your money sell your car privately through craigslist or ebay. Ive sold (and purchased) several cars on craigslist and always done far better than any trade-in price or used car lot.

Transmission is starting to go out on the truck. Carmax is going to auction the truck. I don't want to sell to someone and them have issues with the truck. Rather it be sold at an auction knowing they are getting a vehicle with potential issues.

If you trade it in to the dealer your buying from it will help on sales tax. They will most likely send it to auction also.

Wise move. My old man was famous for buying cars that had about 1 mile left in them. One even thwarted a bank robbery in the 60's when the perp commandeered his car and it only made it a block before breaking down. But among the ones he sold when they had about 1/2 mile left in them, I have memories of one buyer running back to our house brandishing a knife after a cross-member and the part it supported fell out of the car less than 100 feet away. I suspect CarMax has NEVER threatened a seller with a knife.

Yes sir! 1428 to be exact. ;) Sales tax on the new car is 2500 something so it knocks it down a bit.

FYI: I signed up for the brochure, to try and win the coupon lottery as well, around 45 days and never got anything in the mail or email. Finally called their marketing team, through Ford's customer support number, and spoke with someone and had him take my information over the phone. Three days later I got my $750 private offer email. So if you do not hear back from them via the web site follow up with a call.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I shall be flying down to D.C. to pick up my new 2016 Mustang GT on Saturday night.
I had received a private cash offer in the mail back in February but I wasn't able to take advantage of it. I kept trying with no success to get another coupon. I tried what JadedGT had suggested and built and priced on Ford.com and sent for local offers and quickly received an email with a $750.00 private cash. Expires 5/31/16 but works perfect for me.
Anyone looking to purchase on or before Memorial Day should definitely check it out!!
