All these people throwing money at a driver-mod issue. Don't blame the hardware, blame the software.
To be fair...the hardware is not too great! But yeah that issue is not necessarily related to the shifter itself, but poor technique.

I've had my share of missed shifts too...still learning:headbang:

That happened to me once, but instead of going from 5th to 6th, I went into 4th. Scared the hell out of me!

Check out the Blowfish Racing bracket from CJPP. It tightens up the shifts and makes shifting feel a lot better.

Here is a great video on proper speed/power shifting technique.

If you're going from 3-2 when you mean to be going to 4th it's driver error and likely your hand placement on the shifter.

Try turning your hand outward. Your thumb will point towards the floor of the car and your Palm towards the passenger seat. Hook your fingers around the front of the shifter. This way when you pull back your arm geometry doesnt pull toward 2nd gear. It's more straight and falls into 4th. Worst case is you go to 6th instead. This way you won't be blowing up your clutch, Trans, or mechanically over reving the motor.

So I did a bit of searching to see what the motoring press had to say about the 2015 Mustang shifter. These are people who get to drive hundreds of cars so their basis for comparison is very strong. Only Motortrend noted any vagueness about the shiftgates, so there might be some manufacturing variation to blame here, but I still think driver variation is to blame:

Edmunds: Our long-term 2015 Ford Mustang's shifter is great. [...] it can be flicked from gate to gate with ease. The gates are very clearly defined and throws are reasonably short. It moves fluidly but doesn't feel flimsy — actually, it feels more positive than the shifter in our 2014 Corvette Stingray.

Cars.com: The Getrag six-speed manual transmission has clean, easy shifts

Car and Driver: The Getrag-sourced six-speed manual shifts easily and slots into gear quickly, and it feels more polished than before.

Road and Track: "Rather than denying them completely, the shifter encourages quick shifts. [...] they fixed the small things: the pedal placement is perfect for heel-and-toe; the shifter is snappy and direct"

Autoblog: "The shift linkage in the manual transmission has been improved, and although we found the shift knob a little small, gear changing is sweet as ever."

Jalopnik: "The manual is very, very good. Shifts are short, tight and heavy, perfectly weighted."

The Truth About Cars: "The shifter is damn near perfect for enthusiastic driving – not too short, with only the sixth gear not always where expected"

Motortrend: The gearbox is pretty wonderful too, though I found myself missing fourth gear somehow on multiple occasions while moving quickly.

I realize it was mostly my driving habits. Thanks for the research. With only a couple people having the same issue I will pay more attention to my throw technique And adjust. Thanks for the constructive criticism

^THIS^

Like shooting a pistol... it begins with the grip. Bend at the elbow on the pull, not a stiff arm pull from the shoulder. Practice a little and it will become a habit.

Best of Luck!
That is all...
