Hey fellow mustang owners!
I’ve had my Mustang GT for about 6 months (not my first 5.0), but my first manual. I’ve gotten very very good at daily driving, and shifting smoothly while chilling in traffic and whatnot.
But, when it comes to banging gears, I’m scared I’m letting the clutch out too early….Usually from 3rd to 4th at 6500+RPM’s, I’m always weary that I let it out too quick and I feel the car jolt after I let the clutch out. Because of this, I’ve started to hold in the clutch for maybe 1/4-3/4 of a second longer to eliminate that jolt.
Am I doing something wrong with shifting? Any and all tips are appreciated, I’m super open to learning and glad to have a manual.
P.S. I read another thread or two, and saw that maybe I could be pushing the clutch in a hair too early while still being slightly on the gas and therefore the RPM’s stay up a little more than they should be if I wasn’t touching it. I don’t think I’m doing this but I’ll keep it in mind for the next time I drive.
