I grew up in San Jose where these cars were built. In '77 I was shopping for my first car and an S-code fastback was my target. There was no shortage of these cars around and I was trying to pick between a '67 GTA fastback with every option (including both consoles and tilt wheel) and a 4sp 390 fastback that was a little over used. I wised up and bought something with less horsepower (a '72 Capri v6). I wrecked that car as I would have the 390. Someone else beat the 4sp car into the ground as I saw it a couple of years later with the telltale dimples in the rear fenders from hard abuse. I hope the fully loaded car survived as it would be one of the most valuable '67 Mustangs in the country at this point (excluding Shelbys). It was Raven Black with red interior. Quite the pimpmobile.
Sounds like know quite a bit about these cars. This car was built in New Jersey. It’s a early year model build. We have gotten the dash in it was a pain had to buy a repro. It’s hard working on all the trim and fitting all back together. I work on it as I get time been very busy with work this fall. Maybe buy the end of the year it will done.

Glad you asked we about done. The car needs to have its final tune and install the seats. Also the rocker trim and driver side decals need to be put on. Lastly the car needs a final was and polish and wax. The owner does not work on the unless I’m there at his garage. I should have said I work and he watches. I’m hoping maybe we can finish it by the end of the year i have some time off coming.

We’re still in a holding pattern with our 68. We had a bead blaster lined up a few months ago but we weren’t ready when he had an opening. Found another guy that does this work and on track to bring to his shop in early December. Just need to clean up some welds and add the Maier Racing cross braces. He will bead blast and undercoat and prime shell. Then it’s off to body shop for small body work and top coat.
