5/20 streetcar or once a year on track
5/50 racecar or dedicated track car.
Forgot FI guy. Many SC manufacturers require 5/50 under their warranty requirements.

20 weight is for fuel economy. 30 weight will protect better.

Either will be OK. I just like heavier oil.

Heads will explode when the API adds (-0W or -5W) to it’s viscosity index list. At that point we might instead see an infinity symbol followed by the letter W-xx.

The reason for 50= race is if you look at a graph of viscosity V. temp the 20w at street speeds is probably close to the 50w at race speeds. Viscosity modifiers are not magic and they have their own set of issues. So use what Ford recs and you will have no problem. We are not the enigeers and do not know the compromises made. When we change things often we play checkers but the game is chess.

Can't argue with that, but I would be sorely tempted to run 5w-30 in the summer months if I was in Iraq. The manual does call for 3000 mi/4800 km oil changes in the Middle East with SM or SN rated oils and 1800 mi/2900 km for other oils.

I have a 2020 mustang gt, The temperatures here from December till april range approximately from -10 deg celcius to -30 deg celcius till spring. What oil would you recommend for my car. I havent changed my oil since I got my vehicle and it currently shows 59% oil life remaining.
Unless your doing a lot of cold Starts (not plugged in overnight) the Standard 5W20 is good otherwise I would go with 0W20
In the winter you will never get your engine hot enough to make use of the 30 weight.

If street car keep stock
If superhot temps and hard driving 5w30
My car is track 99%
I use 0w40 during the year and
5w50 summer months.
If you dont spin the engine above 6k rpm. 5w50 is an overkilled.
