Is there a difference between 5w20 vs 5w30. The car's manual recommends 5w20In Toronto I'd use either 5w-30 or 0w-30. If you run your car hard I'd use 0w-40 or 5w-40.
Can't argue with that, but I would be sorely tempted to run 5w-30 in the summer months if I was in Iraq. The manual does call for 3000 mi/4800 km oil changes in the Middle East with SM or SN rated oils and 1800 mi/2900 km for other oils. The reason for 50= race is if you look at a graph of viscosity V. temp the 20w at street speeds is probably close to the 50w at race speeds. Viscosity modifiers are not magic and they have their own set of issues. So use what Ford recs and you will have no problem. We are not the enigeers and do not know the compromises made. When we change things often we play checkers but the game is chess.
Unless your doing a lot of cold Starts (not plugged in overnight) the Standard 5W20 is good otherwise I would go with 0W20I have a 2020 mustang gt, The temperatures here from December till april range approximately from -10 deg celcius to -30 deg celcius till spring. What oil would you recommend for my car. I havent changed my oil since I got my vehicle and it currently shows 59% oil life remaining.
Yeah I usually change the oil around 3000 kmin the summer it can get really hot like 55-60 cCan't argue with that, but I would be sorely tempted to run 5w-30 in the summer months if I was in Iraq.
